If this is before you get your Gate Key back: You gotta get through the caves by dropping down a bunch of holes; at that point in the game there's only one path to progress. There are ways around MOST of the bao baos (those big gorilla guys), but you're gonna have to fight a couple. They are the strongest things down there and also the only thing not weak to lightning magic. You may want to grind on Gato to get some more levels; especially if you have avoided most encounters.

Focus on the bao bao first. They take slightly more damage from magic than physical attacks. I like to have Robo here because he can dish out damage and do full party heals. Ayla and Crono are required here, but they also have an excellent duo tech that deals lighting and physical damage to everything in a wide area.

The boss at the end is a Triceratops and you'll get your Gate Key back while being introduced to another boss you'll fight a bit later.

The motherboard had nothing but the case usually had a speaker just to make a "beep" sound. I had to play Wolfenstein with that shit because my dad didn't have a sound blaster until he also got a CD-ROM drive to play Doom since he could only find a copy on CD and not floppy disk.

And even now, a SoundBlaster32 is better than the in-built audio stuff motherboards do have. Though it's not worth getting one just for games.

I remember when I had AT&T DSL for internet. I actually was able to be decent at PvP in Ultima Online because I didn't lag all over the place like I did with 56k dialup lol

Screwdrivers with sunny d are better than regular OJ, IMO. The extra sweetness cuts out the alcohol taste more. But as a 0 sugar seltzer? The carbonic acid just makes alcohol like this taste like shit without added sugar.

I first joined Lemmy back during the big Reddit exodus of last year. I like many others wanted an alternative to Reddit, and I thought that this might've been the one. I kinda wish they had posts/comments per day included. Users per day doesn't mean much; feels like it just counts views that had no interaction as I can see with a couple communities I moderate that get ~100 users a day, but nothing is being voted on, posted or commented.

My PC is purpose built for VR, I have a Quest 3 and what do I do most of the time?

Just sit in a cool looking room in VR chat and listen to music while browsing Lemmy or watching videos. Occasionally I'll play a flat space game in VR so I can have a huge screen. But I mean... I am using the VR technically.

Shower thoughts are wasting water.

My city is in the middle of the worst drought in recorded history. My showers are typically under 2 minutes and I have to shower with a bucket to catch otherwise wasted water to use to flush the toilet. I also shut the water down when I am wet enough so I can scrub myself without having unneeded water flowing then start it...

If you define "puzzle" as a problem that you must work out with hard mental effort, then no; not at all games are puzzles. Rail shooters and other mindless games that rely more on reaction speed would not constitute a puzzle since you don't really need to even think.

Online shooter, sure. You have to think about what the other guy is gonna do. Virtua Cop? You just need to aim and shoot fast when the bad dudes appear. I mean, you could play Counter-Strike like Virtua Cop but you probably aren't gonna be good unless you're posted up with an AWP all the time.

I actually love Metal Gear Solid because its design is much like that of a puzzle game, where the puzzle is "how the fuck do I kill everyone without being seen?" Hitman is the same way, but it always felt less curated than MGS because there isn't just 1 solution to the problem, where as MGS does. And a lot of it is only conveyed through their respective scoring systems.

On the flip side, I tend to dislike leaderboards in most games because there is only 1 possible way to get the maximum possible score for any given level or minigame that once it's worked out, everyone can be at the top and the only way to truly rise above everyone is to cheat.
