If I delete my post/comment, I first edit it to be blank because it can take way more time to actually delete the post/comment than just editing it. They'll appear as just a completely blank post (not even any unicode spaces or weird shit like that). I started doing this after seeing other users doing the same for the reason I mentioned.

To be fair, the search bar doesn't actually appear until you start typing with the start menu up (or press windows key+S) and it's been that way for enough time that there are adults who have never seen it.

Why not serve fried chicken on Juneteenth? How is it different from serving corned beef on St. Patrick’s day? ( old.lemmy.world )

Things have changed... There are tons of eco-friendly liquid fabric softeners now that don't have plastics or forever chemicals in them. Just don't use the sheets.

The pizza slices haven't been that cheap around me since ever. That's the price of the hotdog combo. Everything else is $3+ with the chicken bake being the most expensive at almost $5. I'd kill for $1.50 Costco pizza 🤤

One guy I installed internet for had like a whole theme park worth of model trains set up in his backyard. One of which was big enough for a kid to ride on. I wanted to ride it so bad but I'm a giant. 😩

He also had a arcade/game room with a shop area where he made his own arcade cabinets, air hockey tables, pinball machines, etc.

I'm not really that upset considering it was going to end up the same as The Sims (with its content in DLC piecemeal) anyway, coming from Paradox.

It visually looked like an asset flip simulation shovelware game you can find all over Steam by searching for the shit with the worst reviews, too.

I pirate games to demo them. If I like them, I buy them legit. If I don't like them, I don't even play more than an hour and delete them.

It's the only medium I've done this... If I am pirating a movie or a TV show, it's either old and not able to be purchased or only available on Paramount+ which is absolute garbage and doesn't work 90% of the time I have tried to use it.

With the recent issues of transgender people in sports, why don’t we move some sports over to a weight-class system?

Obviously this won’t work for all sports, but things like football, track, soccer, it would allow for de-gendered team, even allowing athletes with the skills but not the genetically-endowed physical attributes to have a place to play....

I say fuck it and let everyone compete together. Ain't no reason men and women couldn't compete with each other in baseball, basketball, hockey, tennis, golf, etc. Even if you believed men are capable of being bigger and supporting more muscle, there's tons of sports where that isn't going to be the most useful thing to win.

How would you know this gender or that gender is better anyway unless you actually let everyone compete together, regardless of what's in their pants or their heart?
