I cannot understand these Reich households pay such pathetic wages to their workers! Surely percent-wise the difference between a living wage and a below-subsistence slavery "wage" is unnoticeable to them, but still they do it.
But I did work for a rich business owner who was debating why he couldn't get good workers. When I pointed out he was paying the national minimum wage to his starting workers, he seemed surprised and asked me if I thought he should raise it.
So some people are just out of touch. I remember some celebrity being surprised when they saw a code scanner at the supermarket, not realizing the technology existed.
I think sometimes when a rich person sees their servant in their wealthy home setting it doesn't occur to them that that person is desperately poor. Sometimes.
I also believe some people are well aware of what they're doing, and (I believe) will burn in Hell for it.
My father is a lifelong democrat. My mother is a naturalized citizen from Great Britain. I was in high school during Jimmy Carter's presidency. I was mocked in high school for making a presentation where I advocated for disarmament.
All that being said, the presidency of Jimmy Carter was one of the scariest and most upsetting presidencies I can remember. I had never experienced inflation of that level before. The gas shortages and rationing and concern about whether we were going to have the ability to carry out the basic functions we needed to complete was real. It was the first experience we had with worldwide terrorism, and there were over 300 Americans being held hostage in a foreign land with no sign of progress.
Jimmy Carter was no doubt a good man. I believe he was woefully underqualified to run the country. I know that he is lauded these days, but I'm telling you from the perspective of someone who lived through his presidency, it was not a good time for me or my family.
As one of the posts here makes clear, he wasn't even good from a Democrat point of view.

Claude has the ability to accept uploads of PDFs and then answer questions about them. I just recently uploaded a PDF of a complex state tax law that had deleted portions and addendums and all kinds of stuff over 36 pages of legalese, and after a few test questions to see if Claude was able to do what I wanted, I started asking questions and getting answers (with references) for important things I needed to know about what my rights were, and what I could and couldn't do.
I never could have figured that out just reading through those pages.

The first one, "Space Babies" was alright, but felt too childish. "The Devils Chord" didn't hit for me because they just didn't have the budget for really being able to explore a higher level being of such power....
I liked space babies okay, but the devil's chord was bad enough that my wife walked out in the middle of it and said I could watch it alone. I finished it up but it wasn't good.
I haven't seen any more yet, and I came on here hoping to see that they got better. I will watch anyway.

Now, I'm curious to mess around with Linux some more, which is what I use on it, but I can't fully test out what all I can do with it without signing into accounts....

I suggest you read "The Game: Penetrating The Secret Society of Pickup Artists” by Neil Strauss. Not to become a 'pickup artist', which itself is a joke and a very shallow life even if one were "good at it". No.
However, there is a chapter or two, I can't remember how much but it could have been half the book, about self-actualization that I thought was very useful. About making your life full, so that you have a rich background of things you enjoy doing to bring people to.
It's been forever since I read it, but it's an interesting read, especially when Courtney Love is being den-mother to a houseful of pick-up artists in training. Neil Strauss can tell a story. He also wrote a biography about living with Mötley Crüe that is pretty depraved.
