I’m just a weird, furry, pan guy (cis he/him). I also have a big, blue username.

I’m learning Japanese so sometimes I might write something out in romaji just to practice. Please correct it if it’s wrong!

That man is too fucking stupid to own a gun. Take it away, and put him in timeout.

You can do that and it's grammatically correct? :O

    Trying to explain to someone who's NT how my body physically prevents me from speaking in highly emotional situations, and that the act of thinking about talking to someone on the phone or in person creates such a highly emotional situation for me is like trying to draw blood from a stone. Especially since I can only ever get the words out through text, because of the aforementioned problem.

    No wonder all the male villains were hot as fuck.

    What would be the best way to fix the little stopper switch for one of the motors on my Aquilla?

    One of the stepper motors' switch things (the metal part that hits the bar to tell the motor it's at one end of the track) came out and it's either bent too much or snapped off (it's so small I can't really tell) and it doesn't go back in place, which means I can't use the printer because the motor with the head on it doesn't...

    Oh man... I remember having an app back in the 90's that let you use DOOM weapons to shoot up websites (among other things that basically applied decals to the sites you visited). That would be a fun way to browse again.

    Maybe they should learn how to manage their finances before they start another game.

    I'm sorry but how is using the actual keys from a legally purchased system circumventing anything? It's like saying using the actual key to your own front door counts as breaking and entering.

    I just want a 10-12' cable that can push through enough power to keep my VR headset charged while I am using it sitting stationary, and I'm not sure what to even get that isn't the $70 official fiber optic one. I ain't buying one of those again. Last time I had a headset, I got it just because I figure the quality of PCVR would be improved over Virtual Desktop but it was actually worse. I'm not buying one again.

    I don't think a Bethesda game has been innovative ever.

    Arena was pretty special in 1994. Day/night cycles, dynamic weather, procedural generation to create one of the biggest maps for a game even now...

    Look, I'm not gonna tell you the DC so you can just make a note and come back later knowing you can pass. You're gonna have to see what happens and figure it out. The only time I will ever tell a player they can't do something, is if they are trying to do something that is against the rules of the game. I might inform them of potential consequences of their actions if they don't seem to quite understand something that should be obvious, but that's about it. I also use critical fail and success with skill checks in my games, to make things more interesting. So even if the DC is impossible, a NAT20 may still get you through.

    Kolanaki ,
    @Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

    What my players hear depends entirely on how well they roll. Nat 20? What do you know, the orcs just happen to be going over their plans. Nat 1? The orcs hear you. A passing roll, but just barely? You overhear one of them fart and 2 others laughing hysterically.

    This is a situation with an element of luck and you're literally using luck to determine if they even succeed; why not incorporate the numbers in the roll to reflect the random nature of the game world's reality?

    If one state changed its state flag to be the exact same as another, is that a copyright violation?

    Just saw a thing about Minnesota's flag contest and some joker suggested using California's flag which I started overthinking about which leads us here. If Minnesota actually changed their state flag to California's state flag, could California sue Minnesota? 🤔

    Wednesday from The Adam's Family and Eddie Munster are nuerodivergent?

    Kolanaki ,
    @Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

    Wednesday was socially awkward, sure... But the Munsters? From what I remember, they were depicted the same as any other sitcom family of the time; except they were physically monsters. To be fair, though, I barely remember the show from when it was on Nick at Nite when I was a kid; I might be conflagrating memories.

    player rolls perception

    DM: "you smell the distinct smell of gas building in the cave."

    Player: "I cast fireball."

    DM: "Alriiiiight... As the sparks ignite in your hand, the gas explodes, causing a cave in and burying the entire party under a mountain of rock. Congratulations, you are dead."

    Player: "Why didn't you stop me?!"

    DM: "You failed your wisdom check, dumbass."

    Nausea signal means your blood sugar is low. At least... that's what it means for me. First time it happened, I was out all day playing paintball. Around 4 we stopped to go home and I was feeling nauseous as hell, went to a payphone to call my mom and have her come get me, throwing up mid-phone call. She thought I was just faking and told me to walk. But I felt so tired. I sat down and fell asleep for a little bit. Got up and started going home. Kept throwing up, and passing out. My best friend ran into me while skateboarding over to my house and I told him how I felt so he mashed off to my house to get my mom to take me seriously, but before they got back I guess someone called 911 and an ambulance showed up and checked me out. Had a blood sugar level of like 20 or something ridiculous on the meter and they gave me some juice and told me to get home and eat. Now any time I feel hunger pangs at all, I eat something.

    How many people here have actually used XMPP?

    With all the current discussion about the threat that Instagram Threads has on the Fediverse and that article about how Google Embrace Extend Extinguished XMPP, I was left very confused, since that was the first time I've heard that Gchat supported XMPP or what XMPP actually is, and I've had my personal Gmail since beta (no,...

    I don't even know what XMPP is. It sounds like a media player from the early 2000's. I keep seeing it talked about here on Lemmy tho.
