I swear, if they accuse us of antisemitism for criticizing this move for the umpteenth time, I will checkmate them by saying that real Jews would never, ever, encourage this sort of behavior.

Why is it so easy to excuse Israel for this disgusting thing they're doing?

You can't BECOME trans, you only find out that you are trans, and come out as such as a result.

Resol ,
@Resol@lemmy.world avatar

I was transphobic myself (living in a transphobic country my whole life kinda influenced my younger self), but once I knew exactly what being trans was all about, I immediately became a trans ally. Hell, I don't even conform to my own gender (I am male).

I couldn't ever recall having a dream where I had a cell phone. Hell, I don't think I communicated with anyone in those dreams outside of literally conversating face to face.

I have made YouTube videos in the past when I was too young to be allowed on the site, looking back at them, it's safe to say that I'm glad I deleted them when I had the chance (even from the device that recorded them) because I've never cringed this hard at my own stuff before.

Maybe I could do it again once I'm good enough at video editing and humor.

You can have a single color t-shirt be very flashy, as long as it's the brightest shade of lime green you can think of. That's what I have, and my mom hates it.

Mario Party Advance on the Game Boy Advance.

I've seen kkclue's very recent video on it. The main problem with this game is the false advertising, it doesn't feel like a Mario Party game. Otherwise, it's an alright game.

Television was actually fun to watch. Magazines were actually fun to read. Video games were actually fun to play. Hell, playing outside was fun. Playing with toys was fun (even as an adult). Spending time with users on early internet forums was also very fun. Music was much more aesthetically pleasing to listen to (at least the hits of the 00s were, imo). We fidgeted with literally anything we could think of. Pens, rulers, balls (it's not what you think), toys, even our own fingers.

It was really easy to get bored back then too, but at least it was really easy to escape boredom back then.

Downvote me for asking the Google Assistant (I know Lemminos despise Google), but this is what it had to say:

"Love seems like one of the most important things people can share."

That explains why my friend's Xbox got stolen. It was an original Xbox, too. Holds eggs perfectly.

It's gonna take a bit of explaining, so bear with me.

You guys know Al Jazeera, right? The news channel that everyone loves. Well uh... in the 2000s, they had other non news related television networks. A series of sports channels, a documentary channel, and... a children's channel (we'll call it JCC for short). Depending on the time period, at night they don't broadcast programs at all, and instead they aired an animated test card that looped all night long. Before 2009, it looked like the EBU color bars, but they actually made it seem alive. I don't remember that one very fondly. From 2009 to about 2012-13, it was just the channel logo in a night setting, but with extremely soothing music (a remix of the channel's theme song) and sound effects that actually genuinely made me fall asleep on multiple occasions.

I actually managed to find recordings of both test cards on this French website, right here.

Useful for carrying massive things every single day, completely useless for all other purposes.

I noticed that car owners never use their cars to their fullest potential. You have all this additional space just being permanently unused, which just worsens highway traffic. Not to mention all the additional pollution you're now responsible for because that big ass car is not an EV.

Just get a regular sized car if you don't wanna bother transporting 3 grand pianos to the same two places every single day. Oh wait, now you have to retune them too.

Resol ,
@Resol@lemmy.world avatar

Wow, I can't believe I overestimated the size of these things.

Probably anything with the subtitle (Taylor's Version)

Sometimes they sound different enough to make a difference (regardless if I prefer the original or not), other times they sound exactly the same.

Maybe Taylor Swift just isn't for me. And I'm someone who has the balls to call her 2020 album "folklore" his favorite album.

What's the story you would write if you were an author?

A lot of people worldbuild when they daydream and have the bones of a story kicking around in their brain, but have to pay the bills and raise the kids etc so they never flesh it out and write it down. What's your story's premise? Fantasy, sci-fi, alternate history, mystery, western, whatever genre.

Resol ,
@Resol@lemmy.world avatar

I couldn't really think of anything other than an autobiography, or ANOTHER science fiction story set in space (with fish and Toki Pona this time around, and four girls as the protagonists). Actually, I prefer that last thing to be an animated cartoon than a novel.

Lemmy is a failed Reddit alternative

I first joined Lemmy back during the big Reddit exodus of last year. I like many others wanted an alternative to Reddit, and I thought that this might've been the one. I made two accounts, one on lemmy.world and another on sh.itjust.works, in the June of last year that I used on and off for about 4 months....

I'm actually glad I'm not that active on the platform (or any platform for that matter, federated or not), so I can give myself time to breathe in outside air and touch some grass.

And once I am active, it's usually for a couple hours at most, then it's back to being in my coma for a few days.

Adobe's Employees Are Just As Upset at the Company As Its Users: Report ( petapixel.com )

Adobe’s employees are typically of the same opinion of the company as its users, having internally already expressed concern that AI could kill the jobs of their customers. That continued this week in internal discussions, where exasperated employees implored leadership to not let it be the “evil” company customers think...

First of all, it's hard to pronounce if you don't speak French. Second of all, it sounds bad if you do speak French. And lastly, it's WAY less cute. It actually genuinely sounds disgusting now.

Nope, it has been ongoing since 2013. From Adobe stopping physical sales of Creative Suite, to the Xbox One being announced, to Apple flattening iOS to the point of it looking like ass, the enshittification has started at this point in time. And their excuse was to be "more modern", my ass.

I basically did the exact opposite. I never press the upvote/downvote button, but I almost always leave a comment on the page whenever I have something interesting to say. I even reply to the replies I get. I have carried this behavior forward to Lemmy.

And yeah, I was actually active in quite a few subreddits, that is, until the whole API thing happened.

Participate in Eurovision I reconsidered after the terrible events of the edition that happened this year. And I had massive plans too. Who wouldn't wanna hear symphonic metal in this thing?

Also, as a Moroccan, representing Morocco would be the last thing I would do, even though they don't compete anymore, but still.

I guess that kinda makes sense.

What song should I play for my bathroom neighbors?

The work bathroom is currently a warzone, on their phone speakers people like to play music, play games at full blast, and one guy likes to chill to ambient rainforest. What song can I play to passive aggressively make it known that I don't want to listen to their tik tok feeds while I work out my demons?

"Cha Cha Cha" by a Finnish dude named Käärijä.

Play it on repeat to really annoy them. And blast it as loud as possible (until they call the police on you)
