Have a win 7 mouseless laptop I'd like to put a game on and play for funs. Typically my go to game for olden computers is Heroes of Might and Magic 3 or maybe Civ 4. Any recommendations?...
Toons. Vidya games. Choons. I guess card games on computers too. Old electronics. Going outside and touching grass. Simping over Europe (as a Moroccan who despises Morocco). Sleeping. Collecting literally anything I could think of. Ponies no, I abandoned those long ago.
Mint tea is basically an inseparable part of Moroccan culture, literally everyone here drinks it (except me, I'm not a fan of tea), so... please try it and see if you enjoy it.
The universe IS the canvas. Everything else that was added to it (stars, planets, supernovas, black holes, gases, etc) is the paint.
There might be a copy of this canvas, but we can't know unless someone manages to prove that you can travel between universes. And even then, it's likely just either our universe with very small but effective modifications, or it's a segment of our imagination.
One of my most hated things in the dying days of Reddit is people having to put the /s because of all the mass down voting from users that didn't get a post was a joke....
I am not an audio person, so do not have much idea about technical terms - but I hear the words "bass" and "treble" almost everywhere now, especially in the equalizer app that came with a new bluetooth earbuds that I bought (yes, I am still very much a wired-earbud guy, just dipping my toes in the wireless earbud ocean)....
It's in the name. The first letter of "bass" makes a low frequency sound, something that comes out of a kick drum, whereas the first letter of "treble" makes a high frequency sound, something that comes out of a cymbal.
Because quite literally everything in the world is a victim of it, and we're basically trying to raise awareness about it so that it doesn't spread any further.
Not that raising awareness about something on a less than mainstream social platform is gonna do much, but still, at least we can escape the platforms that already suffered from enshittification.
I’ve started to realize that every social media platform, including Facebook, Telegram, Twitter, etc., has issues with bot spam and fake follower accounts. These platforms typically combat this problem by implementing various measures such as ban waves, behavior detection, and more....
You guys know something about ponies? Imagine those, but shaped as humans. That idea basically horrified me so much that I decided the entire franchise it was a part of was not worth my time.
Statcounter reports that Windows 11 continues to lose its market share for the second month in a row. Windows 10, meanwhile, is gaining more users and is now back above the 70% mark.
I'm thinking the same thing with KDE Neon. Idk, Mint just feels WAY too similar to Windows. I get some people like that, but I don't wanna be reminded of something inferior.
Eh, my lappy has terrible battery life regardless of what OS is running on it, and even then, I always use it plugged it anyway, exactly like Strong Bad (it's why I used the word "Lappy")
But we'll, Ubuntu was basically the average computer user's introduction to Linux (even if it kinda sucks now), I kinda think it could still do the job fairly well... only for those users to switch to a potentially better distro.
Once I spent a few days with Ubuntu, I had a very strong reliance on the terminal for simply installing stuff (because I wanna avoid that Snap Store), it takes some time to learn, but I don't think it's that difficult.
I heard Cary Huang (known on YouTube as carykh) does some cool STEM related stuff, and... I guess some kind of live competition as well? It's too late for you to join it though.
First kompoder, I'm not sure what it was called or who made it but it definitely had a Pentium 4 in it. It was rubbish. And I had to spend 4 years with it before taking the leap to Vista, and man what a leap it was.
First phone... it was definitely a Samsung Star from 2009. It was pretty good, but then I got an iPhone 4 and never looked back... until 2 years into the flattening.
It's way less addictive. Seriously, the last time I opened my Lemmy client was 5 days ago. Back when I was active on Reddit, I spent 3 of my waking hours on it every day, that's 21 hours a week.
