Netflix, once a pioneer of ad-free viewing that offered a break from traditional TV norms, is now contemplating launching free ad-supported versions of its service in markets like Europe and Asia, Bloomberg reported....
Figured I would hopefully save others from the annoyances I've had with their service. I experienced daily high packet loss to both my VPS and their website, including the control panel (greater than 50%, typically). The control panel was broken and couldn't tell me the status of my VPS. When I asked for a root cause and fix...
I made a generalization based on the abundance of comments from people saying they don't want AI. Your desires may not be the desires of the majority of users.
Or maybe it's just a common fallacy. Like argumentum ad populum.
It's not. Saying a bunch of people don't want something because a bunch of people are saying they don't want it isn't argumentum ad populum. I never made an assessment about whether AI was good or bad.
If you want to argue that Lemmy doesn't represent users at large, or that the people complaining about AI are a loud minority, go for it. But the vast majority of comments on anything AI related seem opposed to it.
Hi! I’m currently using navidrome, but eventually I will probably need support for multiple users (each user has access to different music or the same music) which isn’t supported in navidrome right now. I don’t really want to run two containers of the same thing if I can avoid it. Thanks
You said other manufacturers fail at "this" referring to the 12v battery dying, but the context here is a child being trapped in a car when that battery fails. If the 12v battery fails on any other car you simply pull the handle and the door opens.
Ok fine, what other manufacturer traps someone inside when the battery fails?
You mentioned the hidden latch on another thread. Should I bring my question over there instead? I may conflated two discussions because you're up and down this post defending Tesla's boneheaded decisions.
I don't know. I don't understand why you're asking me this.
Because this article is about someone being trapped in a car when the battery died, and saying "it's hard to tell when a battery is going to fail" skips over the fundamental problem of being unable to open the door when that happens.

I had a 386sx@25MHz too and I don't remember it being that slow. Unless that demo has the detail cranked up to high or something like that. Although, like that first commenter I had a math co-processor, so maybe that helped.
Or maybe my memory is off and I made the window tiny.
I think the detail level made a pretty big difference. I definitely ran it in low and kind of forgot that high was an option, but the shotgun animation in that video is bringing up some traumatic memories.
So I finally broke down and made a very poor purchasing decision and ordered an e-ink writer to be a notepad/e-reader hybrid.
