Oh jeez, what did we do, what did we do...

Just a little of this, you know war time stuff

Edit: Don't mess with the Cannuks

lost_faith ,

Love the way you said that. Reminds me of a simpsons ep where Martin was explaining strength in numbers by breaking one stick then attempting to break a bundle but using the correct word

lost_faith ,

I was not aware, nice, ty.

I am prolly woefully out of date, but there was an option in the java server config to allow or disallow cracked clients. Please let me know if I am out of date so I can forget this info

lost_faith ,

Last server I hosted wasseveral years ago, forget what version, and I had set that option for the 3 people that couldn't purchase at that time. They eventually did purchase clients and I went no cracks allowed.

Thank you

Sir, that is a lab. He will grab that very long wood and drag it to the cash crashing everything in his wake, tho I wouldn't let him take the patio set as he may rip his teeth out trying to get it to the cash. Labs are really great dogs

lost_faith ,

Davinci resolve will allow you to do what you wish, just don't get intimidated by the interface, and look up the task you want on yt very straight forward and I only use 1/100th of its power

lost_faith ,

It is a program I have used to make bad tutorials and bad compilations (I have no skill hehe). It was a suggestion and maybe after doing this they may go deeper into video editing/making, or not. Like I said I barely make use of all its power, op will decide what they will do

Gateway 2000 Computer - Brand New - Free to a good home! ( lemmy.world )

So I'm cleaning out a house and found a brand new Gateway2k Pentium 4 computer. Someone opened the boxes but never took the computer out, its all still in the plastic and I don't want to ruin the unboxing for someone that is into this. The computer is free to a good home in the Boston metro area to make your retro gaming dreams...

Should run UT2k4

You want a space heater try an AMD K6-2, First pc I ever had to get an aftermarket heat-sink for cause it would shut down in the summer for overheating. Normal operating temp was like 80C

lost_faith ,

I purposely only registered the bare minimum of my fingerprint on my pixel 6. so long as I hold my digit correctly it unlocks every time, if I am off by a few millimetres (and I know when that is) it fails to unlock, I like it that way. Don't auto delete my preferred setting, ty

And here I was ready to drop "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but not this time"

lost_faith ,

Ohh, good idea. During the pandemic there was a company that could put your face on a mask, they may still, you submit a face pic and they print the appropriate portion on the mask

lost_faith ,

Didn't someone attempt to increase the storage of CDs by a similar multi layer tactic, tho not as dense, using different colour lasers to etch each layer? iirc it was just before or just as dvds came out

As a teen I would out eat, in physical quantity, any 2 full grown adults and not gain weight, I was 5'11" @ 125lbs by 16. I could eat several plates of whatever was in front of me, at that time my parents made food, not prepackaged processed crap. Into my 20s I'd sit down and empty a tub of ice cream, not one of them tiny ben & jerrys containers. No weight gain until I hit 28 doing a physical job and went up to 180 lbs of muscle, now I'm 150 ish and can still eat what I want when I want, tho normally I eat to live not live to eat. Calories-in-calories-out, like BMI, is only a part of the whole picture with so many unseen things affecting it, like medicines. And no, being skinny was not an easy ride.

A PR disaster: Microsoft has lost trust with its users, and Windows Recall is the straw that broke the camel's back ( www.windowscentral.com )

It's a nightmare scenario for Microsoft. The headlining feature of its new Copilot+ PC initiative, which is supposed to drive millions of PC sales over the next couple of years, is under significant fire for being what many say is a major breach of privacy and security on Windows. That feature in question is Windows Recall, a...

Charities used to host bingo's for some of their income

It definitely was, at about 8 yrs old I got caught in a rip tide (only my toes/foot it felt like) got drawn out in seconds and took minutes to return, scary as hell when you can't reach the surface or even know where it is. Side note; I couldn't float at the surface like everyone else, I was too skinny and floated about 2" below the surface

That is why coal plants should be closed

We have been modifying crops by cross breeding and selective breeding since we started growing and harvesting crops, this is not the same as GMO. GMO is not bad in so far as a food source that can overcome environmental changes quickly. GMO is bad when it can pollinate non GMO crops thereby stealing a traditional farmers ability to replant from their seeds as they now have a trademarked gene that they cannot use. Monsanto is terrible for this.

Maybe next time he is brought before the house, and they show his pix again, he should just ask if they want a live view as he starts stripping. I mean, they want to see him naked soooo bad

Mine doesn't meet 1 req for win 11, I refuse to go into the bios and turn it on

lost_faith ,

I love the Gnome DE, used it years ago. You are correct, KDE (+Wayland) is better for the gaming side and more like a windows interface, it also got further into my VR setup than Gnome (X11 or Wayland) would let me, switched to Kubuntu from Ubuntu. One day I will get back to the setup (before W10 EoL) but I have forgotten so much in the last 10 years :(

‘My whole library is wiped out’: what it means to own movies and TV in the age of streaming services ( www.theguardian.com )

*What rights do you have to the digital movies, TV shows and music you buy online? That question was on the minds of Telstra TV Box Office customers this month after the company announced it would shut down the service in June. Customers were told that unless they moved over to another service, Fetch, they would no longer be...

I think I'll try using OBS to capture a video tonight, granted its quality will be tied to the output but it requires no additional hardware. Then edit in DaVinci to get rid of the obvious mistakes i'll make. I only have a 4070 ti super tho

lost_faith ,

Oh, the memories... but we were paying a slight copyright fee on every blank disk and tape purchased in those days, regardless of use.

lost_faith ,

Ever wonder how you survived? I certainly do

lost_faith ,

Of course it will come back, soon as Win10 EoL

When I was a kid there was a family with 2 standard poodles, WHITE standard poodles. They dyed one blue and one pink. The dogs looked so miserable after they were dyed it was sad.

lost_faith ,

I had a solid version of ME, so long as I didn't defrag... ever lol. 2k couldn't come fast enuf

That is why most of us dropped cable, $80+ for 10 mins of ads in a "30" min show

I've been screaming this into the void for years and always get shot down. It's almost like people like to be abused. I saw how bozo destroyed business after business in the early years and have been avoiding it fairly well, I will go without my special not necessary "toy" until I find it local, which is getting harder and harder sadly as the convenience is killing local business

lost_faith ,

The usual reason given is convenience "I can get it all in 1 place, instead of driving/bussing around town looking for the local option". I am looking for a usb mic with a short wire to attach to my vr headset so I can stop killing peoples ears with hard P and similar. My local computer store doesn't carry any mics like I need only the desktop professional ones, nor any nearby local stores either. My only real option is to either go to Best Buy or Bozo. sigh

lost_faith ,

lol, I do similar, I stole from the old spy movies. "What is your mothers maiden name? A: The crow flies at midnight" Total nonsensical answers to the questions

lost_faith ,

Malk is rat milk, iirc

lost_faith ,

That's stupid. I'd take lab grown meat, the vegemeats are ok, but I crave real meat and this is best for all. Less land dedicated to animal farming (they can actually graze and live their lives cruelty free) and less farm land for livestock feed(i forget how much land is used to feed our food)? That means even more food grown directly for us, isn't this the goal?

Russia threatens Britain with retaliation if involvement in Ukraine war deepens ( www.pbs.org )

How many non-secret service people have been bitten by Commander? If the answer is zero, what do these secret service people do to antagonise Commander?

lost_faith ,

Exactly, how else will they know they are with the best? In all aspects of a relationship

lost_faith ,

You can still crave attention from people you would never interact with in person

lost_faith ,

Maybe add some books.

Hell naw. Milk crates, lumber, and cinder blocks. All items you can find somewhere close to home.

Help, I've sitted and cannot get up! Pass the robax will ya?

I hate the "RGB Circus". When I had my current pc built my main spec was to "Not look like a fuckin xmas tree" lol, she laughed. Only lights from my pc is the cpu heat sync, and the network activity, there is "stuff" blocking the light from leaving the corner it is in as I sleep in the room.

lost_faith ,

Since you tried them all, what is your take on summit? I mostly use it when not at a pc, smoke breaks, travel between places.
