I first joined Lemmy back during the big Reddit exodus of last year. I like many others wanted an alternative to Reddit, and I thought that this might've been the one. I made two accounts, one on lemmy.world and another on sh.itjust.works, in the June of last year that I used on and off for about 4 months....
Artists have finally had enough with Meta’s predatory AI policies, but Meta’s loss is Cara’s gain. An artist-run, anti-AI social platform, Cara has grown from 40,000 to 650,000 users within the last week, catapulting it to the top of the App Store charts....
I've used Ubuntu for a while a couple of years ago, and honestly, for daily usage and some light editing worked quite well. The gaming was an issue back then, but since i've brought a Steam Deck, i've stopped bothering playing games on windows anyway. Right now I'm looking around for others Linux disto. I've just installed Fedora on a 10 year old laptop and for now it works like a charm.
Forget AI. Google just created a version of its search engine free of all the extra junk it has added over the past decade-plus. All you have to do is add "udm=14" to the search URL....
The Verge and 404 Media are building out new functions that would allow them to distribute posts on their sites and on federated platforms – like Threads, Mastodon and Bluesky – at the same time. Replies to those posts on those platforms become comments on their sites.
I don't know Jonathan, are you? Why don't take a pause from your phone an take your dog Abby for a walk in the park as you usually do? The house's keys are in the blue jacket. Take care. 👁 👁
Totally agreed. Hell, I'm even considering a full dive in Linux for the future. Anyone know if is possible to use something like Valve's Proton to have windows programs run smoothly? (wine is kinda heavy)
Despite seemingly having nothing else in the pipeline and the AI Pin being dead on arrival, Bloomberg reports the company is "seeking a price of between $750 million and $1 billion in a sale."
Blame your govern, not the science. Science give you medicine, electricity, internet, and all the device you use daily. Your govern put unfair taxes on everything and allow the corporation to exploit your work.
For example, did you know that the super-small processor that allow us to have a smartphone so small to be pocket-size is only possible thanks to knowledge we have of quantum physic?
