Sometimes on Lemmy these seem like the only jobs that actually exist, but I'm sure there's a lot of people here with different and unusual lines of work.
Since this is an experience you had with a single person, here's my take on it: That interaction was one moment to you, but the other person had a lifetime to develop that mindset.
I don't know who you're talking about, or what their ailment is, but they've probably been discussing it online for a while, and have probably gotten a LOT of medical recommendations. Some of them, great advice from people with experience, the rest are crystal suppositories.
They probably just wanted to stick to the topic at hand or vent about an experience without having to sift through a bunch of people telling them about meds they've already researched or why they should go vegan.
I completely stopped caring about 2 years ago, I realized I was never going to do anything with my good look and that I will never get into a relationship in my life, so I just figured out "what's the point then, I'm already invisible to women?" And I don't care about my health tbh......
I own a long dagger/short sword. The hilt is in the design of the German eagle with its wings spread out as the hand guard and in the middle of the hand guard is a swastika. The scabbard is also adorned with swastikas on the top, mid section, and bottom....
Here's my similar shower thought: NOBODY is neurotypical. Neurotypical is just the theoretical exact middle of every personality. It's a completely average person, but nobody fits the description.
I encounter situations like this rather often where I am responding to a comment that contains many individual points/statements. I typically will respond with a single comment that contains a quote of each point that is being responded to with my response under neath the respective quote — and, sometimes, for added clarity, a...
If the conversation is at the point where you are replying to replies, and you've sent me three rebuttals with each of them asking for clarification or verification from me, I'm now sending 3-6 replies back, which may require you to send 12 or more.
Also, I'd lose track of who said what and would end up referencing something from a conversation with someone else.
I never look at the threads. I get a notification on my phone that somebody responded. I read the response, I reply to it if necessary. I'm not opening up the entire thread and reading through a conversation from the beginning again.
Yeah, I usually take a long time to type mine out, rephrase it, take out things that might be too offensive, add to what wasn't offensive enough, and then submit my masterpiece.
Only to immediately go back and change all the auto correct typos and fix punctuation.

NOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T WEAR ANYTHING INTERESTING YOU HAVE TO WEAR HYPERMINIMALISTIC SLOP AT ALL TIMES OR YOURE UGLY AND WEIRD
I don't recall ever saying this.
I have noticed that millennials are more T-shirt n jeans, and Gen Z is more hoodies and pajama pants. Our Boomer parents never would have let us leave the house like that, so we do have a "sloppy" connotation with those clothes, but obviously the millennials must not mind as much since we're the ones buying those clothes for our kids.
Although, I cannot understand the return of mullets and pedo-staches.
My pick is Five Finger Death Punch and the obvious answer is Ivan Moody. The guy radiates that alpha-male wannabe energy and it definitely rings through all of the songs he has written and performed with this band. The guy is just a prick and a self-victimizing asshole....

I've been wondering for a bit why during the time the Democrats controlled the legislature, executive, and judicial branches during Obama's first term in 2008 more wasn't accomplished. I hear you, and I completely agree with your reasons WHY we can't compete, but at the same time, if and when we resort to lies and cheating, are we still the good guys or just more bad guys with a different color flag?
Most of the Republican party thinks they ARE the good guys. They are protecting the rest of us from the evils of an oppressive gubment and/or a vengeful God.
Obviously, you and I don't agree with that, but I feel more confident that I'm on the right side knowing that we're at least playing by the rules.
I want to see if I can get a spark of the "old internet" back by making a starting page for myself with all kinds of cool websites. But not sure where to start because Google obviously will not work for this....
For some reason I've just never liked Spider-Man. He comes off as a whiney, ignorant child that never seems to grow up or mature despite everything he goes through. I love a good coming of age story, but he just never seems to become an adult.
It's a great premise, but he shouldn't be a "superhero."
Superheros need villains and a reason to "save the world" Hulk would be a great story of someone who struggles with every day life trying to keep his internal monster at bay, but stuffing him into the superhero role just turns a psychological allegory into "Who we smashing today?"
I'm starting to think maybe we just related to the whiney teenager more when we were one, (looking at you 90s TV show) but experiencing him as a jaded adult just doesn't hit the same.
