Wow, that looks fantastic. Congrats!

Out of curiosity, what are you planning to store there? Wine? Ice? 😁

Thank you! Wine definitely, probably also plant bulbs in the winter, root vegetables... we have a passive house built on a concrete slab, every room is 19°-23°C all year round, it's too warm for those.

Beautiful.

Some archaeologist is going to find this one day. Be fun to include a plaque with a message for them (and for anyone who uses it after you).

Yes great idea, I'll go to the engraving company to have a stone inscribed with our names and the year, it will feel nice to leave something tangible behind, and maybe burry a time capsule too.

Okay, hear me out.

The opposite of a murder hobo is a young couple starting a family.

FilthyShrooms ,

A young couple owning a house in this economy??

CaptnNMorgan ,

It's possible if at least one of them went to college. Even better if both can at some point in their lives

lord_ryvan ,

That's going to depend on what jobs they landed, and more importantly in what part of the world they live

CaptnNMorgan ,

Of course. But in this economy, if you're privileged enough to be able to go to school, it's best if you major in a field that is in demand and has a decent entry level salary. The people who got enough support to go to school but chose a profession that doesn't pay anything, have no sympathy from me.

Time to rewatch Hobo with a Shotgun I guess

NakariLexfortaine ,

It's always a good time to rewatch Hobo with a Shotgun.

It's a perfect movie. The title sets up the premise, and the movie delivers exactly what's promised. If anyone was disappointed, it's their own fault.

Was just talking about gaming genre names being kinda lame (roguelike? Souls-like? Where's the originality?!) and this just furthers my point as programming and video games are intrinsically linked.

outer_spec ,
@outer_spec@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

floats, doubles, etc are decimallikes. object-oriented programming languages are c++likes. a string that is just the word “false” is a boollike. any language easier to learn than c++ is a pythonlike. any language harder to learn than c++ is a asmlike. don’t like it? then you’re a naglike. you don’t want to be known as a naglike, do you?

I never knew Shana as a kitten, i adopted her when she was 2, from someone who thought it would be ok to leave her alone all day in a single room flat.

She's turning 16 in July, a long and happy life

And that's how she used to look:
