Sure he had some shady connections, but all accusations of actual wrongdoing supposedly comitted by Assange himself were brought forward, sourced and verified by the same US authorities, that employed or protected the criminals he exposed, which makes them basically worthless.

What he actually DID do without a doubt is do the people of this planet a massive service by releasing proof of countless warcrimes, spying and other illegal activities by US agencies and individuals.

Your example shows exactly what people are missing. Just because you did not have the capacity for more dogs doesnt mean that other people never got convinced to save one of those dogs. If those pictures convinced even just one person to adopt a dog, then it was worth the minor inconvienience that you had to go through.

Similarly the actual damage from this protest is slim to none (if they used the same stuff as usual that just washes away with water) and if it convinces somebody to get politically active for climate change then it was already worth it.

You thinking that you are powerless, shouldnt result in other people being forced to be powerless when they are not.

The main dev made the last commit, so they dont have the right to make another commit, until they arent the last person to make a commit anymore (until someone else has made a commit). This makes sure that there are at least 2 people making commits but hopefully much more.

In other words, making a commit revokes your right to do so until someone else makes a commit.

Ofcourse its legally binding. If you include a license text with your own code on a platform that doesnt have a clause to license your code under different terms, then that license is legally valid.

But writing the license yourself without making sure that it doesnt allow for any legal loopholes is a bad idea.

Its like in most western countries in my experience.

If you go into a bar in any decent sized city, nobody will bat an eye no matter who you are or what you look like. Once you go to the countryside or into specific bars run by assholes, it gets less clear. Thats not to say all country side people are nazis, but just more conservative on average.

Also being able to speak the local language usually makes people accept you much quicker wherever you go in the world.
