spujb , to Technology in Structural problems with tech platforms prevent fact-checkers from focusing on harm and virality

you discovered the importance of multiple non-associated fact checking institutions holding one another accountable :)

ask :)

not sure why you are getting downvoted.

such stereotypes absolutely exist to dehumanize. the other comment about red foods and juneteenth, while not factually false, fully misses the point of OPs question to an embarrassing degree.

edit: i guess to nitpick rather than “a meal imposed by oppressors” you should have said “two foods associated with stereotypes imposed by oppressors.” just to be fair.

genuinely i used to subscribe to the same theory

and then it switched. i think they’re here genuinely. not even sure what happened to change my mind. your mileage may vary? but i get where you are coming from.

wait i love this theory and hate it so much it just might be correct

If it causes lasting damages they will and should be prosecuted for exactly what happens. I’m hoping they did their due diligence but hey, if not that was dumb as hell of them and they should pay for it.

Again though, the sentiment remains that people are going to die. That damage is also irreparable and far less redeemable. I support this kind of action.

yknow what fuck it, i support this. i was a little on the reactionary side back when they were throwing soup,

but after seeing hundreds of comments saying “just do <insert violent felony> if you want something done” and then seeing those same people turn around and say “but safely blocking streets in protest is an affront to my rights, stop being annoying”

…i get it now. it’s cornstarch and will wash off. calling for “optics” is just concern trolling. people are hearing about it. that’s the point. fuck oil. keep up the messaging. people are going to starve and drown and bleed from war caused by climate change. we are gonna survive a few people yeeting nonpermanent shit at public art.

spujb , to Technology in T-Mobile users thought they had a lifetime price lock—guess what happened next

fiduciary duty requires that directors of corporations protect the interests of shareholders’ investments—including maximizing profits where reasonable and within the bounds of the law.

even if technically illegal on paper (which i’m not sure it is), so long as there is no enforcement or accountability, t-mobile and similar entities have literally no reason do do better. they are literally just holding up their end of the law.

in other words, this unfair treatment isn’t just one of many unfortunate flukes. it is literally baked into the system as a requirement.

Yes, but the increase in fuel cost per unit mass is not proportional to the increase in road wear, which is exponential and absolutely massive in commercial use. Hugely important fact that plays into my opinion that vehicle size should be taxed.

definitely shouldn’t be an only solution, socializing and talking it over are also very helpful. i think the game just has a very specific level of escapism that neutralizes thought loops which improves the efficacy of other coping mechanisms.

start taxing trucks proportional to the wear they cause on public roads. doing so will supplement funding for repairing said roads as well as to encourage rail hauling instead of dangerous hulking vehicles on the same roads we have to commute on.
