My guess is funding from Russia/China and libertarian foundations run by Rupert Murdoch and the Koch brothers

Tbf, that's not really Spotify's fault. After operating costs and the cut to the various app stores they're on, the larger record labels hoover up all of the profits. Spotify has actually operated at a loss the past few years.

He has hired a few contractors to help build out features like co-op, (though the first few versions were entirely him on his own). That would eat into profits a bit, but even if he paid each of them $100k for their work there are few enough for it to be a drop in the bucket

If it's literally the first thing on startup, anyone annoyed can just refund it

‘My whole library is wiped out’: what it means to own movies and TV in the age of streaming services ( www.theguardian.com )

*What rights do you have to the digital movies, TV shows and music you buy online? That question was on the minds of Telstra TV Box Office customers this month after the company announced it would shut down the service in June. Customers were told that unless they moved over to another service, Fetch, they would no longer be...

Well, not digital piracy. Ye olde piracy absolutely was stealing, plus a medley of other crimes

Japan actually has a rather conservative culture, particularly in politics, so comparing them to US Republicans os very apt

It costs them money to include, so they'll take it out eventually

One time I was went on there to figure out an issue in Arduino. The answer one guy gave was "I don't know how to do this in Arduino, here's how you do this in Java". Not only the the mods prevent any other answers from being posted, I tried the guy's suggestion in Java and it didn't even work

You say that as if the garbage gets downvoted

Also earlier this year they stole purchased content from millions of their customers

You have to put in an actual support ticket. There's examples of people who wrote something like "The publusher is forcing me to sign up to a 3rd party and I do not consent"

CAD Software Suggestion

I am currently on win10 but have been toying with mint and liking it. I intend on fully switching over soon. I have also been toying with the idea of some simple 3D modeling, like making custom parts for projects around my house. Maybe using a CAD software to generate stls for a 3D print or using it to spec out parts for a...

As an engineer, I've tried FreeCAD and it's awful. Just get a hobbyist license for Fusion360 and run it in WINE

Fusion works with WINE

Heads up, "I've" is not grammatically correct when "have" is your verb. Using "have" in a contraction when you're using past-perfect tense. For example, "I've been" is an acceptable shortening of "I have been".

The yardstick is: did your interpretation match the intended one?

I think that's just you. There's a few examples of rules in English that aren't required to get a point across, but sentences that break them sound grating. One such example is adjective order

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Per your previous comment:

Yeah, not "incorrect," just non-standard. The yardstick is:

Clearly, he was able to get there so it's firmly in "acceptable use."

I'm not the one conflating the two concepts.

There is one uncleared level remaining in Super Mario Maker, with 18 days to go before the servers shut down ( www.issmmbeatenyet.com )

UPDATE: Ahoyoo has confirmed that Trimming the Herbs was uploaded with TAS tools, meaning that The Last Dance was the final legitimate level all along! Congrats to kazeihinn on the Last First Clear! The journey continues in Super Mario Maker 2......

So I finally did the math on data brokerage and worked out how much we're all being robbed

I know this isn't strictly piracy related, I apologise, but I think it is tangentally related in that piracy protects you from data theft by avoiding the services the biggest thieves operate. Also, I feel like people here might be very interested in this take....

I closed the tab and am now wondering if I need a different weed shop.

The answer is yes. Make sure to also let management know exactly why so they know how bad they fucked up
