There's a bunch of old texts about a Jewish "prophet" called Jesus, who was gathering some followers. As far as I understand, there's no really reason not to believe the person existed.

Then again, all the Jesus lore, there's no reason to believe his miracles were real as those made no sense and there's no real proof besides those same texts written after Jesse's death

If I had to guess, the programmable extra buttons on a Logitech mouses.

You need to configure them in the piece of shit Logitech software, that's not supported on Linux

hemko ,

Yeah, I'm stretching it a bit

Baby wake up, new copypasta just dropped

hemko ,

Probably not any more unsafe than Windows in general. Microsoft already steals all your data, so not sure why you'd be more scared of a script that you can inspect to know exactly what it does

This seems to be a normal issue with VPN apps on Android, they drain battery like crazy

hemko ,

No idea about those, but wireguard and openvpn were terrible for battery life, only ever used if I needed to access something at home

hemko ,

I had openvpn server on pfsense couple years ago, and now wireguard on Mikrotik

hemko , (edited )

Nah don't see that being factor, the small Mikrotik is handling it very well for my small homelab, and pfsense was running on stupidly overkill 8c16t / 32gb memory because didn't have any more fitting hardware at that point

Edit: the huge battery drain was on phone, with VPN client

Just wanted to comment on this bit.

  • Gloves are more important than helmet, on the couple of fall I got, gloves protected my hands, while my head didn't hit. However, if you're in a severe accident a helmet can make the difference so I still recommend one.

Gloves will save you from very annoying and painful scratches on your hands, but helmet can save you from becoming vegetable or dead. I don't think there's any competition for which is more important, helmet any day.

Still, definitely recommend both but at very least a helmet

Huge civilian traffic on Crimean bridge while they transfer their arms through it, just using the people evacuating as human shields

Very interesting. I could get the same result in ddg, but not on bing. Also with quick testing around, couldn't get the ref with searching other techradar article. Very alarmingly, it looks like shufliada dot com is some Russian website?

Edit: apparently it's Ukrainian, not Russian.

I might be misremembering things but weren't they dark skinned already on surface, before they were expelled?

I'm always gonna recommend cycling, even if electrically assisted, but if you're on budget you may want to go scooter as you can get decent quality one for way cheaper.

Now I don't know much about the "e" part of ebikes, but the "bike" part is usually utter trash for anything below like 2k while you can get an amazing acoustic commuter for under 1k

hemko ,

Best example of this is John Bonham, who would playback from his iPod

hemko ,

Well it depends. Read some Tarja-era Nightwish lyrics

Honestly, you just need to find whatever forum the enthusiasts of <topic> are using and see what people write there.

This is just one of the cases where search engines are useless

It just makes sense if you think about it. It also takes some 50%+ more velocity to go to the sun from Mercury than from Earth, due to Mercury orbiting sun at the speed of 47km/s

Very cool, hope you don't have fireworks pranksters around there

TODAY IN ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY - 05/18/1964 ( youtu.be )

The Animals record "House Of The Rising Sun" in one take at De Lane Lea Studios on Kingsway in London. The song would top the UK singles chart the following July and reach number one in America two months later. In 1999, the record was given a Grammy Hall of Fame Award

That sounds neat, but it means those ads are at least partially loaded on the background, which is also bad

I just took old android phone and used it as ipcam mounted on her crib.

The sound is easy to hear, but it was assuring to also see the camera view what she was doing

Chip binning is great because it creates less waste, cheaper product and more profit for the manufacturer. Rare case of where everyone seem to win.

But there was this case where intel was designing chip that could be sold at lower price and more cores could be unlocked in software for a price.

Yeah, I feel like any tap on a obstacle would potentially send high-speed carbon shrapnel at drivers direction

hemko ,

Also fingerprint unlock missing would probably be a big no-no for most people even in budget class.

Very cool! Since collecting this data from UCI races it should bring a lot of interesting stuff into the table. Hope the data will be available for individual researchers as well

Also since there WILL be crashes, the data can be quite useful for helmet manufacturers too to provide better protection

Because flushing your brain down the toilet is a prerequisite

PvP is way too punishing, interactions with NPCs are meh at best and half of your playtime is used simply on grinding currency to actually do things you want

Over focusing on pve has also led to various issues

It's essentially a duck test with more data points. The more points you get the more certain it is you have autism. And for diagnosis, there has to be a concrete line how many of those points are required

The one on the picture though, it's just crazily ineffective use of space. That's already half of why cars are so terrible on cities

    hemko ,

Only way I can make any sense of it is to try balance the day. Get more business on quiet time, and less on rush hour. But I don't get how it would make any sense from the business perspective since usually you'd want to optimize for the rush hour, not push customers away with higher pricing

I read somewhere "more patches than in windows 95"
