I don't bother going outside that much, so when I found myself in Bern main train station during rush hour this morning, my brain went from Mondrian to Pollock in about half a second. Talk about sensory overload.

It's summertime and, as is the tradition, all my neighbours' kids are outside screaming/shrieking relentlessly in a pitch that only dogs (and, as it turns out, autistics) can hear.
'Tis the season of the almighty noise-cancelling headphone.

If you've ever wondered what it's like being autistic with ADHD, it's a bit like this for me. (I always assumed everybody thought like this).

@wakame @actuallyautistic yes, people need to keep it short, with as few subclauses as possible!

@wakame @actuallyautistic I do too, but when writing - far too many parentheticals!

It has taken me two years to change my bio from "Neurodivergent, apparently" to just "Neurodivergent". Despite being open about my and , the 'apparently' must have been a subconscious way of distancing myself from the diagnosis somehow.
