Israeli Jaffa have changed it's brand to Orri, this one has the original name and Israel on it, but there are other without Israel's name on it.

I saw this at our local Moroccan store that I usually visit and asked him why he was selling Israeli products, first he claimed they were Spanish, and when I showed the sticker, he simply said, so what. He was pretty mad when I returned the items I was planning to purchase.

Today when I passed his store, I saw that they had removed all the stickers. It really makes me sad.

“Divestment at the University of Edinburgh: Breaking from Balfour’s colonial legacy: As a university steeped in the legacy of Balfour, we have an urgent duty to end complicity in Israel's settler colonial project. Divestment from companies complicit in occupation, apartheid, and genocide is the first step toward historical redress.”

by University of Edinburgh Students and Staff Divestment Movement in Mondoweiss @mondoweiss

@palestine @israel

“This Monday 17th June 2024, the University of Edinburgh Court rules on a historical decision on whether or not to begin an active and immediate process of divestment from ‘controversial weapons’ complicit in Palestinian dispossession and Israeli settler colonialism, which the University has been entangled with for well over a century. The ruling of the court could mean immediate divestment from companies like Amazon and Alphabet as their ‘AI solutions’ might be plausibly in use in the mass targeting of civilians in Gaza. This would set a grand precedent and would serve as a concrete step to reducing our institutional complicity in violence against Palestinians.”

The thing about the "Israel wants Trump" argumemt is that I think what wants even more than is to not have a be seen to lose reelection for supporting Israel.

And I don't say that as some kind of checkmate, just a consideration I haven't seen brought up before.

“In a final message to people disenchanted with the way Britain’s political system is working today, she [Marah] emphasised:

‘We are here to give people an opportunity to partake in democracy. And who knows? It could actually get some of us independents into power to hold what will be a Labour government to account and to not let them wield as much power and arrogance as they think they can.

So even if it is just to participate and put a cross in a box that doesn’t feel like you’re marking it in blood, just vote independent, vote Green, vote for the people who are standing for humanity. It’s urgent that you do that, and you have to do that.’”

    Australia can't control what other countries do @Uneek but we can lead by example. In my view, Australia should:

    They were so quick to act on unsubstantiated (and evidently false) Israeli allegations against UNRWA @Uneek
    The ICJ finds a prima facie case of genocide against Israel and our government does nothing. Something is rotten in the state of Australia.

    Celebrity blockade is working, one by one they are acting like they care for Gaza! After losing millions of followers, many celebrities posting lame and desperate call for "peace" and "ceasefire".

    It's amazing that less than a week after the call for boycott, we're suddenly seeing these people act like they just woke up to the ongoing catastrophe that has been going on for 7 months.

    Many media outlets are paying a lot more attention to arrests than to the actual demands of protesters.

    US media largely ignored campus protests until encampments (and police clearing of encampments) got going, fitting in with a general pattern, according to a researcher who studies how journalists cover protest movements:
