Why there are no reporters in Europe like him any more?
They all have turned into cowards at best or genocide supporters at worst. The disgusting dirty and disgusting atmosphere created by Israeli supporters and right wing media owners not to forget the sold out politicians and indifferent public (on top of racism and islamophobia) have created a vaccume of strong, knowledgeable and brave reporters who are not afraid of telling the truth.
With Robert Fisk gone, The independent have also turned into a echo chamber of pro Israeli voices. German and Swedish media are not even worth reading any more and I get better news from Israeli media criticizing the fascist regime of Netanyahu than any of the so called progressives and liberals in those countries.
@faab64@palestine@israel Agreed. It’s rough when Haaretz is the most reliable not jumped-off-the-deep-end reporting of MSM on #idf etc. In US Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez with Democracy Now and the entire staff seem to have rather good contacts around the world, used to talk with RF, and these contacts have blogs or posts in diverse sites. It’s not as easy to get information as BE (before Elon)on dead bird site. I cancelled one online US news subscription 6.08.
@odaraia@faab64@palestine@israel We can also see how effective the torture, persecution and defamation of Julian Assange has been in getting obedience from the mass media. The MSM supported this.
The capitalist classes knows how weak they are. In this breakdown of the profit system they will show all their cunning and ruthlessness.
Workers, students and youth have to fund, support and build their own media in the struggle for power.
The U.S. said it was constructing a floating pier off Gaza’s coast to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. However, the real reason it exists is to protect American interests in the region.
@mondoweiss@palestine@israel well, yeah. Same reason they send aid to Palestinians. The longer they receive aid, the longer the time until their unconditional surrender can be prolonged, the more Israel will spend on arms from America. From the perspective of the general public, this is being done to help Palestinian people to survive, but from the perspective of American politicians, this is being done so they can send money to Israel who then spends it on American arms, in whose companies American politicians hold stock. If they really wanted to save Palestinians, they just wouldn't provide support to Israel. They want war to happen, and to profit, personally, from it in every possible avenue
They suck fighting in the battlefield and only can win against those with no heavy weapon, no airforce, no navy or air defense. Will their attack against Lebanon teach them a lesson they never forget?
Of course before it happens, uncle Sam. Step dad macron and sugar daddy Schultz will come to rescue in the name of fighting Iran. Hezbollah' have already kicked their ass twice in the past despite Israel destroying Lebanon in revenge, will this be any different?
But for now, all they can do is to post calls for genocide in yet another country in a sick and sarcastic way.
@marcosantos83 people talk about Israel as the problem is Netanyahu, forgetting that over 40% of Israel are like ISIS and would accept any atrocities against their opponents (not just Palestinians).
Joe Biden's claim that Hamas’s October 7 attacks were “driven by ancient desire to wipe out the Jewish people" is ahistorical and dangerous. In fact, Jewish history shows that antisemitism is a Western problem.
@mondoweiss@palestine
Remember the United States didn't want them in the 40s and sent them back and the Brits didn't want them either and it must be said Tis the Eastern Europeans who have an ancient desire to wipe out the Palestinian people and all based on religious fvkwittery.@israel
#France: Court orders company organizing arms fair to ban participation of Israelis
#Ynet is reporting that a district court in France ordered the company organizing the #Eurosatory arms fair, which opens on Monday, to not only ban the participation of Israeli companies - but also Israeli citizens.
On May 31, the French Defense Ministry instructed Israeli security companies not to participate in the fair amid suspicions of war crimes and genocide committed in the Gaza Strip. As a result, the Israeli pavilion, which was supposed to include 74 exhibitors from Israel, was canceled. However, the organizers informed companies that Israeli citizens would be allowed to visit the fair.
MSF International: Eating pigeon food.
No diabetes medicines.
Still treating people for burns and trauma.
Some of our staff, trapped in #Gaza City since the start of the war, describe what life has been like over the last few months and how they have been treating patients in a pop-up clinic. @palestine@israel
@Sherifazuhur@palestine@israel good on them! MSF deserves more funding....if you are not funding them, consider funding them, and don't forget about UNRWA- thanks to the Zionists, the Americans dropped their funding.
@plink@palestine@israel
Did you see IDF burning boxes of water bottles in Gaza where 98% of people are without fresh water? It is premeditated murder. On www.aljazeera.com/live at the o'clock.
#Israel considering leaving #un
"In response to the UN adding Israel to the “blacklist” of countries who harm children during war, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, said that Israel needs to weigh leaving the UN. He said the move was “a despicable decision by the Secretary General who hates Israel, who in his conduct serves dictators and murderers and will be remembered in history as a failed Secretary General who degraded the UN to an all-time low.” @palestine https://anash.org/war-day-251-israel-considers-exiting-un-rescue-details-revealed/
#Israel / US imposes sanctions on Israeli group that attacked Gaza aid
The US has imposed sanctions on an Israeli group called Tsav 9, which is accused of attacking humanitarian aid convoys bound for #Gaza. The sanctions were imposed under an executive order signed by President Joe #Biden in February, which targets individuals and entities that threaten the peace and stability of the occupied West Bank.
[…] The sanctions target Tsav 9, a group with ties to Israeli army reservists and Jewish settlers in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, over activities including blocking, harassing and damaging aid shipments.
Hi, I have heard references to Mastodon censorship on Israel but I haven't seen any examples. Could you give me some? Because that is very concerning to me.
@plink@palestine@israel
Hi Mr. Link:
Here is a screen grab of one of several I've received from Mastodon, Every one of my posts deleted by Mastodon are critical of Israel. screen grab -
@RememberUsAlways@palestine@israel the problem isn’t that it’s just disgusting. The problem is after you make a deal accepting their terms, free 80 hostages and withdraw from Gaza completely, they may suddenly say “oh look! we just found 30 more hostages here in this basement, wanna make yet another deal?”
How does one manage that?
"We write in sadness and despair at your government’s failure to condemn openly and persistently the Israeli government’s determination to ethnically cleanse Palestine and to cause brutality, famine, death and destruction to a whole people and their country."
@DropBear@palestine@israel
Our gov's response (if they acknowledge it) will be interesting.
I am heartened to read of so many professors and trust, that regardless of our governments actions, you will ensure future generations learn the truth of the Palestinians/Israeli plight.
@RememberUsAlways@palestine@israel
It made me so mad this week when instead of celebrations for that brave rescue I saw just so much more pro-Iranian disinformation about perfidy and other ignorant takes.
Yes. The entire war is justified with a single hostage rescue.
I fear Hamas retaliation against any living hostages that remain. They will move the hostages for certain and then use them as political tools to extract demands.
The Republican amendment to the annual defense budget is just one of several proposals to restrict humanitarian aid to Gaza and block solidarity with Palestine
