#Israel considering leaving #un
"In response to the UN adding Israel to the “blacklist” of countries who harm children during war, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, said that Israel needs to weigh leaving the UN. He said the move was “a despicable decision by the Secretary General who hates Israel, who in his conduct serves dictators and murderers and will be remembered in history as a failed Secretary General who degraded the UN to an all-time low.” @palestine https://anash.org/war-day-251-israel-considers-exiting-un-rescue-details-revealed/
@HarbingerOfSalem@israel@palestine There is a website called 23Khz that allows you to create a list of dog whistles that are used in content online.
One of them is "collective responsibility", which says that it's antisemitic to claim all Jews are responsible for the actions of the Israeli government.
Which is true.
It is.
And yet, I have caught a guy that frequents that website talking about how he can't wait for all of Palestinians to be wiped out and that he has no sympathy for them.
Fifty years ago, I joined in protests against the Vietnam war. Today the mainstream media is smearing pro-Palestine student protests in ways that are even worse than how we were slandered back then.
@robertsmelser@mondoweiss@palestine@israel it sure does seem inherently racist to refer to all Palestinians as terrorists too. Group dehumanization tactics lead to willingness to kill everybody in the group, which is an attitude I've seen people on liberal Mastodon push repeatedly without any repercussion.
As Miko Peled observed, Israel and Palestine are the same place. He believes that Jews and Arabs can live together peacefully. That may be true, but by all appearances, it's true of probably less than 20% of the population. The remaining 80% would need to be homed elsewhere.
Palestine is sacred to more than Judaism and Islam. Ideally, I'd like to see it established as World Heritage. Protected by the world at large and thus needing no armed forces. I can dream, can't I?
What of the other 80%? Netanyahu advocates a state in Sinai for Palestinians, so let's make that two states. I think of them as sanatoria. Unarmed and heavily guarded, to protect them from each other and the world from them.
Indiana University's "Liberation Commencement" was a celebration of the students' brave commitment to fighting powerful institutions and their involvement in challenging Zionism and the Palestinian genocide.
@nicholas_saunders@KathyLK@chiraag@mondoweiss@palestine@israel I love how Zionists say "Israel for the Jews!" with the same ethnonationalist fervor as the Nazi screaming "If Japan is for the Japanese, then let us keep Europe for the Europeans!" And other such racist, bigoted bullshit
BTW, as other people have noted, Nicholas Saunders is a troll who asks dumb questions then feigns offense if you don't tell him exactly what he wants you to say, in exactly the way he wants it to be said.
(And an antisemite, and a rape advocate, but that's another story)
There are no rockets being launched from Hamas on them there.
Israel is a colonizer project. That is why they are kicking out non-Jewish people and settling Jewish people in the West Bank.
This would be akin to white people kicking out Native Americans on reservations and moving in new families that had recently converted to Christianity.

First off, I would like to thank you for agreeing with me that Israel is a settler colonial project. I find settler colonialism disgusting. I hope you can join me in that as well.
Second, since it's the only point you felt like touching, Jews are safer in America than Israel.
