I'm thankful that in all my years of working in retail, I never had a gun pointed at me. Having said that, random people get so bent out of shape about the most ridiculous, inconsequential things and it can be close to impossible to predict who it's going to be or what is going to set them off.
Based on my experiences, if a customer is being indignant even after explaining that I was helping them out, I would apologize and remove the discount or ring the order up differently (if it was in my power to do so). More often than not, they calm down after they get what they want, even if it's to their own detriment. Granted, after calming down, a not insignificant number of these folks will realize their mistake and then they have to figure out a way to save face so they can ask for the discount to be reapplied.
Man with 10 kids opens mouth, grabs gun barrel with two hands, inserts barrel in mouth "Do it, let's go, bitch. My shift ends in 30 minutes I ain't got all day."
Bet I can tell you something about the voting history of the guy who couldn't understand basic math or the concept of a sale, perseverated on that fact long enough to come back to the burger king that tried to give him a deal, called the cashier a racial slur and pulled out a gun.
It's a problem with models right now. Parts of your prompt contaminate each other, making it hard to make a long prompt and get all the separate elements you want.
We tried it in class, after hearing about the US founding fathers being black and Nazis being surprisingly diverse with Asian women in the ranks too. Finnish Medieval couple was a black guy with an Asian wife. Maybe the AI was thinking of Netflix version of Finnish history.
You joke, but that has been pounded into our heads our entire life, and even me (a gen x’er) feels like it’s my own fault because the world has been beating me down for not reaching whatever arbitrary standard it’s set for us.
We should get all of us together, pool what little money we have, and buy us a huge compound somewhere and have our own community. I mean, what could go wrong, right? 👀
People do this already, check Foundation for Intentional Community. You can find communities near you that are open to visitors or new residents and check them out.
Make sure you're well acquainted with the traits of cults to keep yourself safe. There are groups out there that are fundraising and building infrastructure for new communities, as well, so there are many ways to get involved.
I'm an older millennial and I look at the younger generarions with horror. We still had some good years. They only had worst and worst times. Disasters, wars, economic craches, pandemics, more wars... fuck! Guys you need to change the world!
