Mac users served info-stealer malware through Google ads | Full-service Poseidon info stealer pushed by "advertiser identity verified by Google." ( arstechnica.com )

Mac malware that steals passwords, cryptocurrency wallets, and other sensitive data has been spotted circulating through Google ads, making it at least the second time in as many months the widely used ad platform has been abused to infect web surfers....

Google Ads takes no responsibility for any damage that may result from these oversights.

I'm not a lawyer but that doesn't seem likely to hold up in court.

YSK: Using dairy milk after being tear gassed or pepper sprayed doesn't provide more relief and has slightly increased infection risk. Use water or saline instead

Generally medical professionals do not vouch for using milk for tear gas despite it often being touted. The research seems to suggest they are largely the same in providing relief...

I have experience with both from the military. Tear gas isn’t as bad as being tased. Also tear gas you build up a tolerance.

teft ,
@teft@lemmy.world avatar

You train with tear gas to get you used to it and to get you to trust in your gas mask. First in basic and then again every few months. With the taser we used them during combatives training so you would know what it feels like in case someone stole yours and used it against you. The thought is it may help you prevent you pissing your pants.

Even if the world becomes a hellscape do you want to meet your maker choking on bits of your own lungs or breathing normally?

That is why you shouldn't smoke. Lung cancer and COPD are not things you want to deal with if you want to do anything remotely physical later in life.

Also being able to speak the local language usually makes people accept you much quicker wherever you go in the world.

As someone bilingual who lives in a non-english speaking country, this has gotten me into many places that other english speaking foreigners have missed out on. People love it when you speak their own language to them, even if you aren’t completely fluent.

bicycles are awesome and easy less expensive then buying and maintaining a car.

That fully depends on what bike you buy. But starter bikes are definitely cheaper. Problem is every cyclist i know ends up with “just one more” bike. And they tend to get more expensive as you learn more about the sport and what you like in a bike.

All that said, everyone should buy a bike. You’ll have fun riding and get into better shape.

You would think jewish people, if anyone, would understand the problems that come with the dehumanization of a people.

Storing heat energy seems like an incredibly inefficient way to store energy.

teft ,
@teft@lemmy.world avatar

The article I read said they don’t currently have an efficient way to convert it back to electrical energy. Current tech is 30% efficiency.

Interesting idea but i think we’re many years from this being commercially viable.

Could I get an autopsy done on myself while I'm alive?

Completely random stoned hypothetical. Lets day im old as fuck and I decide I'm ready and done. Could I have the same postmortem autopsy done on me while I'm still alive? Like give me a ton of drugs and let me watch myself get dissected as my final moments. I understand there is a legal and possibly moral concern, but is it...

Shadowbans help prevent bot activity by preventing a bot from knowing if what they posted was actually posted. Similar to vote obfuscation. It wastes bot’s time so it’s a good thing.

teft ,
@teft@lemmy.world avatar

Don’t post shit that gets you shadowbanned. Problem solved.

teft ,
@teft@lemmy.world avatar

Don't hang out in spaces that don't align with your beliefs.

I was on reddit for 15 years and never caught a ban and I'm not exactly a demure person. If you go to an anti vax thread (this is an example since i know nothing of armenia) and post stuff about vaccination, even it's 100% factual, it's not surprising when you catch a ban.

Then how did you see them?

For my first assignment, I had to compose 20 dialogs involving sex in public places—10 at the beach, five inside a car, and five in a forest or garden. There was a list of particular sex acts I had to include, as well as a stricture that I refrain from using emoji in more than 30 percent of lines. I had only 48 hours to complete the task.

Man, the latest season of Taskmaster is crazy.
