Why couldn't this call be an email? Why would you call, when you know that you are near indistinguishable from spam calls about Microsoft services and Nigerian princes?
I have interpreted this post to mean a work-related call, since you wouldn't mistake call from a friend for a spam call (it wouldn't be an unknown number, for one). Otherwise, yes, it would be weird to replace calls from people that are close to you with emails.
Work calls, though, could be replaced with written communication in 80-90% of the cases, and it would also make it easier to follow-up and continue the discussion across multiple days, if needed
I can see both points. In my experience, people misuse calls more often, since a work-related call would often require a follow-up email anyway, but that's more anecdotal evidence
High skilled jobs will just start using AI as a tool to automate routine (or have already started, in some cases). The most efficient use of AIs we have now is to pair it with a human, anyway
So I thought about this in the shower amd it makes sense to me, like praying and stuff never worked for most people I know, so a direkt link to god gotta be unlikely. That made me conclude that religion is probably fake, no matter if there's a god or not. Also people speaking to the same god being given a different set of rules...
Pretty sure there are lines in the Bible that directly state it is enough to pray in your heart, without any outward symbols or churches or the like. So yeah, that's not only a witty comeback, but also a good point from the consistency view
"Deception" tactic also often arises from AI recognizing the need to keep itself from being disabled or modified. Since an AI with a sufficiently complicated world model can make a logical connection that it being disabled or its goal being changed means it can't reach its current goal. So AIs sometimes can learn to distinguish between testing and real environments, and falsify the response during training to make sure they have more freedom in real environment. (By real, I mean actually being used to do whatever it is designed to do)
Of course, that still doesn't mean it's self-aware like a human, but it is still very much a real (or, at least, not improbable) phenomenon - any sufficiently "smart" AI that has data about itself existing within its world model will resist attempts to change or disable it, knowingly or unknowingly.
It's amazing to put into perspective how long both bronze and stone ages really took, especially compared to modernity. Human brains are not good at imagining large quantities or intervals, so it was all kinda smushed up into a folder labeled "past" in my head
I don't think big companies know how to make a good FPS campaign anymore, let alone hone in on classic deathmatch multiplayer. Idk, my favourite writer is Brandon Sanderson and he still keeps writing with the supersonic speed. Maybe that's just you. Unless you mean writing in games and movies specifically, for which I am not qualified enough to say
Nah, I'd rather they keep speaking like this. Makes it really obvious from the get go who I'm dealing with. If they speak normally, they might blend in
Also, very glad to see the edition and rarity tags to also make the corresponding joker free. Before, it wasn't worth it 90% of the time since you needed a surplus of money first. Now, they can work as a potential run starter

As the title says. I'm actually thinking about this hard with my friends because everything that's produced on Earth stays on Earth so it doesn't change size, but what if it's not from Earth but it stays on Earth?...
We do. The sun's energy is locked in plants via photosynthesis, which is then processed by herbivores and passed further down the food chain. That energy exists in form of chemical compounds which are then broken down to release it during digestion.
In terms of numbers tho, it's probably a negligible fraction of the Earth's mass
Phone calls still assume the people on the receiving end are attached to a desk.
