If you're an author or publicist thinking about running a StoryGraph giveaway, I've written up my experience of taking part in their beta trial.

Besides Shakespeare, were you assigned more than one book by the same author in school? K-12, not college. @bookstodon

@albnelson What age is K-12? We did multiple John Steinbeck novels that were nothing to do with exams (Scotland in the 90s). My last year of high school we did multiples of E.M. Forster and Tennessee Williams. Often we were just encouraged to read our own choices though. @bookstodon

@kimlockhartga @bookstodon I've had a bit of a mixed bag of reading so far this year, but let's go with:

@owlislost It was fun and also a really good way to explore modern dating. I reviewed it here: https://www.curiositykilledthebookworm.net/2024/03/the-husbands/ @kimlockhartga @bookstodon

I don't see @bookstodon being used much. Is everyone still using @bookstodon or have you given up on groups?

Looks like a new batch of giveaways have been loaded onto StoryGraph. Unlike Goodreads, they're not restricted to North America (although a lot are US only still).

OMG @bookstodon I just got the best first review a writer could wish for. Forgive me for this little bit of self-promotion.

"The characters are everything, Lailu (cover) is perfect, Daisy is so relatable and there’s a host of supporting characters to love including shifters, vampires and a whole host of magical creatures.

The writing is great, the book flows effortlessly and kept me reading even when I really needed to go to bed."

I would love to get your thoughts and feedback on my from my latest book, The Challenges of Being Me. Do you like it? Does it capture your attention? Without knowing anything about the book, what genre would you say this cover best fits? @bookstodon

@dickrubin716 @thorncoyle @bookstodon It's rare to see a black and white YA cover, and the ones that do tend to have brightly coloured accents. For example Jennifer E. Smith's books have some doodles and a playful font to indicate YA.
