How does it harm your privacy to git clone anonymously from github?

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Have you ever heard of a slow down? You're supposed to slow down.

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Gross. Why would you literally put dead corpses into your body?

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Sometimes I wish I could silence the voices inside my head..

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Usually its a song. But sometimes its more than one song playing at once. And sometimes there's a narrator speaking over the music

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Jesus no. OP went through extra effort to post it to many relevant places, and they also included the content of the article in the post itself. This is gold and an example well set for others who don't take the time to post things right.

Thank you. Keep up the high effort posts.

Don't sort by new. This is a bug. Tell Lemmy devs to fix it.

Shed have to speak Mandarin

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

And for that you need to learn a different language too.

It is racist to promote Zionism, though

Rubber bullets literally can shoot through your chest at close range. They're easily as lethal as bullets that aren't coated in rubber in many situations

@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Do y'all have credit unions up there?

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Down here most credit unions were run by employers. So the only check required is usually "who is your employer" or "what is the address of your employer" or "what is your home address"?

If any one of the 3 meets their criteria, you're eligible

Did the phone bill disqualify you from an account without credit? Usually the application for credit involves debt checks, not for a checking account at a Credit Union.

I mean if he is actively lobbying the government to increase his taxes so that free housing is available, sounds like a good landlord

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

I think the benefit to Facebook comments is that they're public. what's the benefit to writting a letter if other people can't see it?

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Well even a less-than-full-page ad would be good. Also a good way to supported journalism

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Yeah I guess it depends who they give money to

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

I mean the landlord could also have a mortgage to pay. You have to evict at some point. But, ideally, the government would be able to step in, recognize the risk presented to the tenant, and either pay their rent or issue a moratorium on the mortgage so that they wouldn't be evicted.

If the landlord was trying to fight for such government support, then they're doing the right thing

Is it?

Isn't the goal is to have 100% of people fed by food banks? The complete abolition of commoditized foods?

US warns of Russian hackers targeting operational technology in water systems across North America and Europe ( www.nextgov.com )

The advisory, which also includes French, Canadian and British authorities, says that pro-Russia activists are “targeting and compromising” operational technology platforms that underpin wastewater and water treatment systems, at times posing physical threats to safety....

@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Don't hook that shit up to the internet ffs

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Nah, its easy to remember. Its a good name

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Why does that matter? The content is licensed CC BY-SA. The point here is to prevent AI answers.

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Because that's the nature of FOSS. The good news is, if they trained on you data that's licensed CC BY-SA (as all SO content is), then you can request their source code, and they legally must provide it.

This is a good thing.

@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Do you have a good recommendation for when they ask for a photo ID? I read about OnlyFake, but its down and I can't find an alternative.

Basically I want thisIDdoesnotexist

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Yeah basically that plus thispersondoesnotexist thrown into a Photoshop template rendered as a photo on a floor carpet with AI

Edit: I found https://verif.tools but some of them don't look very good.

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

How would that be possible? Its still shitty and hard to use.

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Just email one of the researchers and ask them to send you a copy

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Do you have a link to a guide on his to set this up?

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

He made a very useful product and didn't care about it making money.

Isn't that a hero?

I like security meetups where everyone brings a SIM card and you put it in a hat, shake it up, and pass them back out again at random.

@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

Green card? Which country?

Don't you mean blue card?

delirious_owl ,

OP said they were in the EU. My EU residency card is called a blue card. I thought that was the name across the EU

Professor sues Meta to allow release of feed-killing tool for Facebook ( arstechnica.com )

The tool is nearly ready to be released, Zuckerman told Ars, but the University of Massachusetts Amherst associate professor is afraid that Facebook owner Meta might threaten legal action if he goes ahead. And his fears appear well-founded. In 2021, Meta sent a cease-and-desist letter to the creator of the original Unfollow...

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

This is insane. The filters for the feed should be built-in. Its annoying that we have to use a third party for this, and they have no right saying what tools I use to improve their product

delirious_owl ,
@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar

The US has one party. We watch Canadian PM debates and drewl at the prospect of having a platform for actual leftists.
