Nobody cares about little Maggie who performed moderately great at her recital, whose parents are very proud. I don't think we were made to sustain this level of concentrated human horror at our fingertips, all day, everyday.
Look, obviously you're having a hard time in life and you think your view of men is justified, but it only serves to antagonize the majority of men that are not predators. I think OP was explaining, how the law of attraction is basically religion where you replace god with the universe. With the same level of faith required, aka all, same level of proof provided, aka none.
Could be recency bias, could be that fashion is a cycle that repeats and old fashions are rediscovered.
Could be laziness because at some point it becomes easier to trim a beard once every month than shave everyday.
Some people's skin also can't handle daily trauma from razors.
It also looks more interesting than a vanilla clean shave, imo. People might be looking to stand out for that reason.

More seriously, first get really in touch with your phyche. It's hard to underestimate how fucked we can be as individuals when we're bathing in our parents issues. Don't be afraid to consult a mental health specialist, if not in your budget (for US reasons) find friends you can confide in without feeling judged (tall order if you don't have them already I know) or just get a good round of introspection/meditation.
A lot of issues I see adults do is because they never learned to live with themselves and therefore never learned to know themselves, so they're slaves to their own ignored/repressed feelings.
A healthy mind in an healthy body is maybe a cliché, but it will take you far and they usually go hand in hand anyway.
You know like the kind that go on a window or bathroom mirror or on the wall or in the shower. They need the atmosphere pushing down on them to work, right?
Life is not an action movie. If that actually happened I wouldn't be blindly throwing myself in the middle of a group of armed/dangerous guys. I'd be calling the cops (they're more trained than I am to handle the situation) and freak out hoping nothing bad happens to her.
