Skeumorphism was still alive in 2010. That makes 2010 objectively superior to 2024.

Dude, maybe it was meant to be a joke, but that doom picture is so fake. C'mon.

MossyFeathers , to World News in Special school pupils ‘tortured’ in calming rooms, BBC investigation finds

What? You put them in solitary just like they're putting kids in solitary. That way they learn what it's like to do that to someone else and then they won't do it again!

Boom! Instant rehab!

MossyFeathers , to World News in Special school pupils ‘tortured’ in calming rooms, BBC investigation finds

Probably something along the lines of, "Dumb American. Back in my day we beat sense into the autists and kids with down syndrome. Kids these days are too soft, only thing that'll cure an autism is a good kick to the head."

Personally, I've found that not really being into sex is a deal breaker for most people. Combine that with the fact that I have a hard time trusting people and maintaining relationships with them, and I've kinda given up.

I just want to feel wanted.

Edit, on a slightly different note: for everyone out there who is """fur-curious""" but holding back for one reason or another, stop that. I orbited the furry community for probably 15yrs before "officially" getting involved in the community a couple years ago and I seriously regret that I waited that long. People are a hell of a lot nicer here.

Okay, if I... if I chop you up in a meat grinder, and the only thing that comes out, that's left of you, is your eyeball, you'r- you're PROBABLY DEAD! You're probably going to - not you, I'm just sayin', like, if you- if somebody were to, like, push you into a meat grinder, and, like, your- one of your finger bones is still intact, they're not gonna pick it up and go, "Well see, yeah it wasn't deadly, it wasn't an instant kill move! You still got, like, this part of your finger left!" NO I'M NOT GONNA PUT YOU INTO A MEAT GRINDER. I'M NOT GONNA PUT YOU INTO A MEAT GRINDER. NO. I'm making a reference to the fact that, like, if I, like, if I were to get fucking KILLED... I don't know, YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYIN'. If- if- okay, if you were to- okay we're gonna take humans out of this, if alien Globgobglobgo 1 fuckin' shoots a disintegrating ray at alien Globglo 2, if there's only fucking TEETH LEFT, it's- it's fucking you're dead, you're dead.

"If I were to put you in a meat grinder," goddamnit, it's so fucked up! You understand what I'm sayin' though, I'm not actually saying that I'm going to put somebody in a meat grinder, goddamnit. Whatever.

- an entirely sane and not completely deranged psychopath.

It's referencing Facade, a procedurally generated breakup sim where you act as the catalyst for your best friend's divorce. You have a text box and you have to find the right things to say to make Trip and Grace hate each other and eventually get a divorce. Anyway, the word "melon" instantly gets you kicked out of their apartment.

Okay, Facade isn't a breakup sim, you're supposed to save their marriage, not ruin it. However, they're both massive assholes so it's more fun to ruin their lives.

MossyFeathers , to Games in Garry's Mod to remove ALL Nintendo content from the Steam Workshop due to takedown

Fyi, you might want to add a notice to your post that lets people know that it appears to be part of an ongoing series of false-dmcas from someone using a fake Nintendo-lookalike domain.

MossyFeathers , to Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ in meme, and reality.

You might have already figured it out, but it says

You wouldn't pay for 4k Netflix and then download a Chromebook recovery image in order to extract the aarch64 widevine com blobs and then patch in support for 16k pages and then apply miscellaneous glibc compat workarounds and then spoof your useragent, and install a browser extension to unlock HD resolutions, to legally watch media in only 1080p

Also I don't think OP made the meme, I think they're just wanting to know more (as am I). Like, what's the drama? Why'd someone make the meme? It implies Netflix only lets you watch things in 1080p on a PC if you apply a bunch of workarounds (presumably to make the site think you're a TV or something).

MossyFeathers , to Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ in The MPA has big plans to crack down on movie piracy again

I wonder if there's a way to obscure IPs on the side of a torrent tracker. Like an inverse VPN.

Tbh though, I feel like in this day and age they're gonna have a hard time cracking down on torrents. VPNs are easier to use and more accessible than ever. Just remember to recommend VPN usage when someone asks about trackers, torrent programs, etc.

Edit: also this is pure bullshit, I can't believe anyone actually believes this in this day and age:

In his speech on Tuesday, Rivkin highlights what a major problem piracy in the US has become, saying it costs “hundreds of thousands of jobs” and “more than one billion in theatrical ticket sales.”

Pretending it actually does hurt ticket sales, you know damn well companies wouldn't use the money to hire more people, Rivkin. They'd use the money to find new ways of cutting costs, aka jobs.

MossyFeathers , to Not The Onion in Findings cast doubt on the existence of Jesus Christ

Interesting. I thought it was fairly well established that Jesus existed in some capacity but the debate was about who he actually was and (from a religious standpoint) if he did any of the things the Bible claims he did. It's interesting to read that non-jewish people of the time seemed to have no knowledge of his existence.

At the same time though, I wonder if it's possible that most people just ignored him, which is why there's apparently very few accounts of him until after he supposedly died, resurrected and ascended to heaven. Kinda like a street preacher in Times Square, NYC. How many people actually acknowledge street preachers on social media, and how many of them actually know the preachers by name? Then think about how social media didn't exist yet, so the bar to be recorded in history by uninterested third parties (even just as a letter to a friend about that "annoying Jesus guy") is probably a lot higher.

Not saying he existed, just that it's interesting to think that he could have existed but the lack of evidence is just because no one gave a fuck.
