#US / Brown University agrees to hear divestment proposal if encampment is cleared
Brown University has agreed to hear a divestment proposal from student protesters in May, on the condition that the current encampment protest is peacefully disbanded.
[...] The University has previously said that the endowment is not directly invested in weapons manufacturers. Brown’s Investment Office is contractually obligated not to disclose the content of the managers’ portfolios but assured that none have a specific focus on defense manufacturing.
[cont’d] #US / Billionaire Donor Barry Sternlicht Assails Brown’s Deal With Protesters
Jewish money in US academia is still not a problem apparently… imagine it’d be #Qatar, for example, withholding donations from Universities not condemning Israel for war crimes in Gaza, apartheid, settler violence, mass arrests, illegal occupation, attacks on academic and press freedoms, etc.
Favorite quote: […] the two sides did not agree on “facts and moral clarity,” as well as the scale of Israel’s invasion of Gaza … not sure what he means by “moral clarity”, but I doubt it anything justifies Israel massacring innocents civilians.
[…] Mr. Sternlicht, 63, said that no deal with protesters could be fruitful because the two sides did not agree on “facts and moral clarity,” as well as the scale of Israel’s invasion of #Gaza after Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack..
Had Israelis not revealed their true selves, then your hasbara might stand a better chance of deceiving me @fuller
From their actions it's quite clear that, for Israeli Zionists, "chosen people" is an expression of racial superiority. Zionist Israel has far less in common with Judaism than it does with Nazism.
In 1939, Germany invaded Poland with the intention of wiping it out. German-Poles and Poles engaged in massacres on rumor and on partisan grounds. European history is one of war.
Jewish communities existed for millennia in the ME, but the founding of Israel very definitely incited their destruction. Another war right on the heels of WWII by an Ashkenazi movement intent on blood and soil. Did Mizrahi ask for this?
Now in Gaza, Israel has carved for itself its own graven image, a carbon copy of Europe’s bloody history, especially of blood and soil. For hate groups they can now point and say, “we are right, it’s always about race wars over land and resources, Israel proves its true”.
The Israeli police have launched a third investigation into Professor Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian from the Hebrew University, following her recent release from detention. Her defense team has advised her not to answer questions on political matters or those outside the scope of the investigation. They also warned that if she is summoned for further questioning, they will consider legal action to halt the political persecution.
During previous interrogations, she was questioned about her views on East Jerusalem, colonial settlement, and Israel's actions in Gaza.
Her legal team has requested urgent intervention from the Attorney General's office to prevent further summons for questioning and to instruct the police not to investigate her on matters beyond the approved scope.
The defense team has accused the police of abusing their authority and engaging in political persecution.
#Israel on trial?
This is not what the #ICJ organises. Its role is to establish the law.
A halt of invasion?
In 2022, the ICJ issued a condemnation on the #Russia invasion, to no consequence.
Kate Ferguson: “Will it be enough to stem the tide of atrocity crimes? No, of course not.” https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/dr-kate-ferguson@israel
"#Israel’s foreign intelligence agency, ran its own parallel operation which sought out compromising information on [the court’s preceeding chief prosecutor] Bensouda and her close family members in an apparent attempt to sabotage the ICC’s investigation. The agency’s former head, Yossi Cohen, personally attempted to “enlist” Bensouda and manipulate her into complying with Israel’s wishes […] causing the then-prosecutor to fear for her personal safety."
#domicide must be recognised as an international crime
The massive, arbitrary destruction of civilian housing in violent conflict should be recognised as a crime under international law, the UN’s independent housing rights expert told the General Assembly today [28 October 2022].
This article in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat documents the massive destruction caused by the recent Israeli military operation in the #Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip. It describes how entire residential blocks, medical centers, #UN aid facilities, and water wells were demolished, leaving the camp in ruins.
Testimonies from returning residents like Umm Fadi (أم فادي) and Munir al-Masri (منير المصري) recount how their homes and neighborhoods were completely leveled. They accuse Israel of taking revenge on Jabalia, which has been a center of resistance.
[…] "My son and grandson were martyred during the first incursion into the camp, and now in this new incursion they destroyed our home, and destroyed all the homes of our neighbors. Even the schools were burned and large parts of them were demolished. What happened is they destroyed everything. They completely erased the camp."
[…] "The operation is clear. Its objective and results are clear. They destroyed our homes, water wells, medical clinics and schools - not #Hamas and its capabilities. The occupation even burned down and destroyed #UNRWA headquarters, leaving nothing of it remaining."
Israel claims the operation targeted Hamas' efforts to regroup in the camp. However, residents say Israel destroyed civilian infrastructure like markets and bakeries rather than just Hamas capabilities. But its actions show intent to erase signs of life in Jabalia. One merchant says shops and stalls were deliberately burned down, and another woman says Israel executed her brothers.
With ongoing rescue efforts by civil defense crews to recover bodies from the rubble, the Israeli operation comes across as involving widespread and indiscriminate destruction in the camp, far beyond its stated military targets.
"I want to be clear that everybody who followed this issue from inside the U.S. government—whether it's the military, the intel world, the State Department, USAID—was fully aware of not only everything that was happening in terms of destruction and civilian deaths in Gaza, but also the expected consequences and expected trajectory of the Israeli campaign in Gaza.
What I've told you is not really my unique analysis or has anything to do with my own personal genius judgments. I think they're widely shared, or widely at least understood by everybody who works on this topic professionally. And I emphasize that because I think even in the past month, we've seen demands from our government that the Israelis must have a day-after plan, or that the Israelis still must work towards reducing civilian casualties, or that they must work towards a number of these sort of very basic steps that it was clear nine months ago that they weren't going to do anything about. [...] Anybody could have told you back in October, back in November, that we'd get somewhere like where we are today."
The USS Liberty Incident was an attack on a United States Navy ship by an Israel, in which 34 crew members were killed and 171 crew members were injured. Talking about "Greatest Ally"
Once again, as usual, the Israeli occupation army is lying. The weapon that was seized is just a children's toy. If you use search engines, you will find it for sale
They are trying in every way to convince you and gain your trust.
Remember if you caught someone liying to you, that means that they has lied before and will lie again.
Israeli occupation forces who are part of “Kotel Yeshiva” are celebrating “Completion of the Tractate Bava Metzia” inside a civilian house in Gaza, a Palestinian family was supposed to be at their home not displaced in tents, killed, or injured.
Kotel Yeshiva is a Jewish educational institution.
Completion of the Tractate Bava Metzia refers to the completion of studying a specific section (tractate) of the Talmud, called “Bava Metzia.”
