"The strategy utilised by the Zionist Establishment within Jewish communities and outside these communities, particularly, in the United States, England, France, Germany and Australia is to engage in an intentional falsification of history and contemporary reality when it comes to the supposedly intractable conflict between Israel and the Palestinians."

"As the world witnessed in the case of the destruction of the highly probable victory of Jeremy Corbyn becoming British Prime Minister, these campaigns of destroying opponents of Israeli ethnic cleansing have been extremely potent and successful.
#Gaza / Settlers looted and desecrated food intended for Gaza in front of soldiers, peace activists were attacked, and two trucks were set on fire
Dozens of settlers and far-right Israelis looted yesterday the humanitarian aid trucks making their way to the Strip through the Tarqumiya crossing near Hebron. The humanitarian aid was blocked at two points in the area south and west of Hebron Hill - near the Tarqumiya checkpoint and near the Negohot settlement. After being blocked and looted, two trucks were set on fire near the Tarqumiya checkpoint.
B'Tselem stated that the looting continued for hours, "in front of soldiers and police officers, as well as security personnel at the crossing, who did not lift a finger to stop the desecration of food. This conduct by the Israeli authorities grossly violates the interim orders of the International Court of Justice, which demanded that Israel allow the supply of humanitarian aid to Gaza."
Destroying food deliveries for a people in dire need already struck by #famine shows a form of ethnonationalistic violence which is out of reach for any moral judgement.
Keeping to oneself and ignoring world hunger is so common as the normality of social darwinism in capitalistic market societies. But taking away food from the hungry and destroying it in front of their eyes is a murderous barbaric aggression
that remains hidden from the general public out of practical reasons
it negates everything that value based societies who support Israel's #genocide in #Gaza need to legitimize their imperial dominance.
#Gaza / UN says Gaza death toll still over 35,000 but not all bodies identified
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) last week changed the breakdown of fatalities it publishes from Gaza, based on official sources in the Strip, so that the number of women and children killed was cut in half. The UN explained this evening (Monday) that the change stems from the fact that in recent reports it relied on a breakdown from Hamas' Ministry of Information, but at the end of April it received an updated breakdown from the Gaza Ministry of Health. However, the UN emphasized that the overall death toll of around 35,000 remains the same (not including missing persons).
Israeli media is celebrating this updated report while omitting the important parts:
[1] OCHA is doing its job and updating its statistics when more data becomes available,
and most importantly,
[2] OCHA numbers now only include IDENTIFIED bodies it receives from the Gaza Ministry of Health,
[3] the overall death toll of people killed by IDF has not changed and it is still and astonishingly 35,000 … a testament to the barbaric nature of the indiscriminate revenge attack on Gaza by Israel.
[…] Haq said those figures were for identified bodies - 7,797 children, 4,959 women, 1,924 elderly, and 10,006 men - adding: "The Ministry of Health says that the documentation process of fully identifying details of the casualties is ongoing."
@oatmeal@israel@palestine Worth emphasizing that even the 35k is still only the ones where the have (seen) a corpse. So there is zero question that the “unidentified” ones are dead, there’s a body.
#Palestine / Impunity persists two years after the Israeli army’s murder of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh
[...] Two years after the murder of Shireen Abu Akleh in the West Bank, and a year after Israel's official apology acknowledging its responsibility, justice has yet to be delivered for the emblematic Al Jazeera journalist. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) condemns this impunity and calls on the international community, especially the United States, to exert pressure on the Israeli army to answer for Abu Akleh’s killing.
#US / Journalists face retaliation for their Gaza war coverage, NWU reports
[...] According to data collected by the #NWU, more than a third of the targets of retaliation were Muslims or people of Middle Eastern or North African descent. As the report highlights, retaliation can come from leaders inside the workplace or from outside individuals or interest groups – A worrying pattern that not only threatens honesty in reporting but also shows problems in how the media industry supports diverse voices.
[cont’d] #US / US says Israel's use of weapons may have violated international law
[…] But the administration stopped short of a definitive assessment, saying that due to the chaos of the war in Gaza it could not verify specific instances where use of those weapons might have been involved in alleged breaches.
Racist undercurrents in Australian society should not be downplayed @faab64
To some degree, we're all subject to it. Yes, even white Anglo-Protestants.
@mdylanbell@DropBear@palestine@israel This word is used in bad faith to attack Israel over a subjective concept, not an objective reality. It’s devoid of any real meaning and solely referred to with the purpose of causing and effect (antipathy toward Israel) as opposed to describing a reality (an ongoing state of war against Hamas in Gaza, which deliberately throws noncombatants in harm’s way at every turn, to elicit undue sympathy for its cause).
A petition to the Parliament of Australia:
"The ongoing violence and oppression against Palestinians by the Israeli government violate fundamental human rights principles. The disproportionate use of force, illegal settlements, and blockade of Gaza have resulted in immense suffering and loss of life. Our nation should not support regimes engaged in such violations. Action Requested: We urge the Prime Minister to take a principled stand against the Israeli government's actions by severing diplomatic ties, ending military support, and condemning human rights abuses in Palestine." https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN6106 #AusPol #IsraelPalestineConflict #Israel #Palestine #WarCrimes #CrimesAgainstHumanity #genocide @palestine @israel

#US / Lawmakers Admit They Want to Ban TikTok Over Pro-Palestinian Content
[…] The global nature of TikTok’s reach is most likely the driver of the massive uptick in pro-Palestinian content on the app. According to a study conducted by Semaforin November, the app’s popularity with users in Muslim-majority countries was a decisive factor in the spread of pro-Palestinan content during the early weeks of the war. By contrast, content being produced in the United States was nearly evenly split in its support for Palestine or Israel.
#US / How US campus protests over Gaza differ from Vietnam War era?
The Gaza conflict protests differ from the Vietnam War era protests in that they are smaller in scale, more diverse in views, and heavily influenced by social media, with a greater emphasis on #intersectionality and thus, contrary to pro-Israel supporters claims ("ignorant", "arrogant" etc.), are showing nuanced understanding of the conflict, whereas the Vietnam War protests were larger, more unified, and driven by a broader anti-establishment movement.
#US / How Counterprotesters at U.C.L.A. Provoked Violence, Unchecked for Hours
Videos analyzed by the #NYT show that the violence was instigated and escalated by dozens of counterprotesters who attacked the encampment for nearly 5 hours with little to no police intervention.
Counterprotesters tore down metal barriers, shot fireworks towards the encampment, sprayed chemical irritants at protesters, and physically assaulted them with punches, kicks, sticks and other makeshift weapons.
While protesters inside the encampment tried to defend the barricades, there is no clear evidence they initiated any unprovoked attacks on the counterprotesters based on the video analysis.
#UK / Students begin new wave of protests against Gaza war after US arrests
“now is the time to act”
Protests were held at least six universities, including Sheffield, Bristol, Leeds, and Newcastle, with others expected to follow suit.
Some universities, such as the University of York, have already taken steps to address students' concerns by announcing that they no longer invest in companies that primarily make or sell weapons and defense-related products.
[cont’d] #Gaza / Campus protests over the war in Gaza have gone international
[…] Student groups in the #UK, #France and #Mexico — among others — have sought to erect what many of them are terming "solidarity encampments," prompting a variety of responses from university authorities and local law enforcement.
