📣 🚨 PSA for anyone who didn't know/realize: this is a Twilight Zone-esque #horror anthology from the Indonesian director that made IMPETIGORE, SATAN'S SLAVES, & SATAN'S SLAVES: COMMUNION
I've watched one so far & it was entertaining with some cool imagery & creatures. But even if these wind up being uneven and lacking, you DEFINITELY should check out his movies (on #Shudder) because they are FANTASTIC
Happy #Pride!
(I still haven't decided if I agree with this theory- I need to watch this again, either way- but I have zero problem with it and it DOES make a lot of sense...)
@KentuckyConjurer@horror@horrorfilm Yeah, I never got that sense anytime I watched it but a) it's been years and b) there are a couple articles and podcasts that provide somewhat convincing cases for it.
Ultimately, I don't care- it's an interesting angle to consider, and if it makes someone happy to have them be a couple, it's fine with me, lol.
@KentuckyConjurer@stina_marie@horror@horrorfilm nah they're just goofy buddies. I have watched it a million times. But yeah if people want to think of them as a couple that's fine with me!
They're both so dumb but one is an episode of Supernatural w/ JJ from Criminal Minds and the other is a monster porn paranormal romance starring Michael Trucco. #Horror@horror@horrorfilm
I think (but don't know for sure) Paramount basically gutted the Shudder human curation crew and spun up Ye Olde Algorithm for programming choice. I really love the idea behind what Shudder is supposed to be, but I've never felt the need to retain a subscription for more than a month at a time, a couple of times a year.
Good ones I see in this list:
Hunter Hunter
Valhalla Rising (although not "horror")
Loop Track
I watched THE FIRST OMEN on #Hulu last night and it was rad. I thoroughly enjoyed it- it's well-done, creepy, disturbing, and surprisingly artful in a lot of its imagery & cinematography.
It also has me pondering a question:
Would the Catholic Church be pro-abortion, if the fetus in question was proven to be the Anti-Christ? 🤔
@stina_marie@horror@horrorfilm I would absolutely love to see a book, film, or TV show tackle that idea as its main plot. It would probably be incredibly controversial though.
@fskornia@horror@horrorfilm I would be curious and interested in any of those, too, but I am 666% sure anything with the premise would never get made... MAYBE a book would.
Another rainy weekend. It's a good day to stay in with horror movies. I was invited to watch an early screener of Pandemonium. I gave it a 7 out of 10 stars on IMDB Available May 27 in the US, Canada, UK and Ireland. On the same day, Pandemonium will be available on major VOD platforms, including Apple TV and Prime Video. French with English subtitles. My mini review is posted at https://wellwortharead.blogspot.com/2024/05/movie-review-pandemonium.html@horror@horrorfilm#comedyhorror
I haven't seen #Abigail yet but it appears to share some similarities with the French movie #LIVID (aka #LIVIDE.) At least peripherally.
I think they are probably very different in tone, but LIVID is on #Shudder (or it was) and I HIGHLY recommend it. And I'd be curious as to what people who've seen Abigail think. (No spoilers, though, please.)
Wow, thanks for reminding me about Leslie Vernon! It's been ages since I've seen it, but I was so excited back then. I urgently need to watch it again. In the meantime, I'm really looking forward to ‘In a Violent Nature!
