This would be awesome if it wasn't because of something so horrible

MyPornViewingAccount , to Ukraine in "The Pride of Russia!"

That checks, real heros dont get their limbs blown off. Why would they be proud of someone who got wounded?!

Hubi , to Ukraine in Another Ukranian anti-aircraft missile unit shared their kill marks.

It's been a while since I've seen any helicopters getting shot down. It doesn't seem like Russia uses them as much as they did in the beginning.

OwlPaste ,

I guess its hard to shoot them down as they fly low and do untargetted over borizon fire before running back woth tail between their legs. That goes for both sides, but i seen more helicopters lost when they were stationary

partial_accumen ,

Likely lots of factors.

  • so many shot down there are fewer to fly
  • sanctions hurting repair channels meaning they fly fewer hours to reduce maintenance demands
  • longer range Ukrainian missiles exceed the useful operational range of helicopters so to use them they'd have to station them inside Ukrainian missile range
  • Lack of trained pilots? We know that Russian army trainers were put to the front lines (and liquidated), it wouldn't surprised me if this was also done to helicopter trainers so now that they are dead the pipeline for new pilots is drastically reduced.

Not only longer range but also highly mobile air defense supplied by NATO countries specially designed to take on helicopters.

Loved this a few years ago. What have these guys been up to since?

The Advanced Edition Update was released not too long ago.

MacedWindow , to Video Game Art in What games have you played that have a "perfect fit" soundtrack?
@MacedWindow@lemmy.world avatar

Animal Crossing. Each hour of the day has a different track and it really makes it feel special to play at every different time of day. When your playing and the song switches or makes you want to play more.

I need to play this, it looks so fun. This pic has Final Fantasy vibes

It's fun. It's a puzzle game disguised as a strategy game, so you need to slightly adjust your thinking if you go in and have trouble.

Under rated gem of a game. Nice to see the artwork of the dev showcased!

Skasi ,

I wouldn't call it underrated. It seems to be very popular and often has better ratings than other very popular games. Personally I think it's not necessarily bad but slightly overrated. I would've liked to try the more detailed designs in a more complex, less fast paced/arcade-y version of the game.

The Netflix game?

MentalEdge OP Mod , (edited )
@MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz avatar

Uuh... No?

It was out on switch and PC four years before Netflix published a mobile version.

cordlesslamp , (edited )

Well Yes, But Actually No.

Netflix don't make games (for now). They just bought the game's license, remove all IAPs and paywalls, and include it with your Netflix subscription.

Generally it's a good thing. HOWEVER! The way Netflix did it requires the studio to make a complete separate version of the game and give it to Netflix.

So most of the time, it became abandon-ware. Because the separated Netflix version stopped getting updates and bug fixes soon or right after release.

any that has the sole in the front like a little shovel are dangerous in my experience.

Interesting, the early designs remind me a lot of the interiors in Wayward Terran Frontier. Especially "The original sketch of the Kestrel." in the upper right.

I don't see Transistor mentioned. Great moody soundtrack that fits the cyber noir aesthetic wonderfully. We All Become is such a beautiful song.
