Can someone please explain why in the assessment of the level of support needs, it's all about social and routines/repetitive behaviours, and there's nothing about how sensory overwhelm is a Very Big Problem for many autistics?
I can deal with the social stuff (avoid) and the routines/rb (don't do them in public), but the sensory storm of going to the store is A Real Problem for me.

Could be the reason that they only assess what can be helped to be eased via learning skills/therapy ?
One can learn skills to cope with necessary social interaction and how to chanel behaviors that might harm the individual, but sensory overload is something that cannot be helped other than via avoidance (headphones, gloves, glasses)

Die Schwere der sensorischen Probleme kann vielleicht nicht ausreichend objektiv gemessen werden, die Probleme, die es verursacht schon und dann danach die erforderlichen Hilfestellungen erwogen werden.

Die sensorische Empfindlichkeit ist ja nicht das Problem, sondern die Handlungen, die sie behindert, die man aber ausführen können muss, um am Leben teilhaben zu können und die dann von einer Versicherung bezahlt werden um eben das auszugleichen.

Ich kenne da aus eigener Erfahrung.
Mich behindern meine sensorischen Überlastungen aber tatsächlich z.B. zu Hause, wo ich mich nach meinen Bedürfnissen ausrichten kann, nicht,sondern in der Interaktion oder beim Agieren in Umgebungen, die ich nicht beeinflussen kann.
Somit ist, bei mir, nicht die Empfindlichkeit das Problem, sondern, dass ich in Situationen muss, wo sie mich behindert.
