Digital humanities jobs!

L'Institut de Recherche et d'Histoire des Textes (IRHT-CNRS) at Paris-Aubervilliers is hiring 8 positions for digital medievalists for the Biblissima project, in jobs from software development to processing of historical data, for contracts of 6 to 36 months. Application deadlines from 2 to 8 July 2024, with positions starting in September or October.

Humanities postdocs in Prague!

I draw particular attention to two: one on Roman art and archaeology, and the other in medieval studies. Both are for two-year terms available 1 January 2025, eligible to recent (<5 yrs) PhDs with excellent English. Application deadline for Roman art and archaeology postdoc is 1 July; for medieval studies: 15 July.

This is the handwriting of renowned historian Theodor Mommsen @subugoe. I‘m a trained palaeographer and I can’t read it - not without spending a long time working out the individual letters. But native German speakers who have seen this type of writing before have much less trouble. Cursive is all about exposure! @histodons @medievodons @historikerinnen
