Driver's seat solitude curled up small as I can in the driver's seat solitude, a hard southern storm jerking the wheel grinding through a wall of rain I have a friend a friend in the backseat by the phone listening too hard to see past my nose I get this hot.prickly.feeling maybe premonition of a death that don't belong to me between Muleshoe and Clovis a car full of stones

    trying to write like I paint — intuitively, without over intellectualizing the choices I make, just focusing on shapes and sounds and vibes

    Don't overthink it where the eyes & the grackles go plucking after the mare that made me a coward / skinned alive by the sickle side of a question mark; the days I wondered who (the hell) are you & who the hell is knocking like that in the middle of nowhere; blanking on how we got here again & I'm sorry but-look, let's just skip the polite stuff & keep the squishy rot under our kneecaps before we hear the worms return to their holes & crack that curse: fuqboi / nuke button too busy / being melanc / holy
