OwlPaste , to World News in Russia Loses Last Black Sea Missile Ship

Thats why i said, they are amazing value for money. But sould be interesting to know just how many boats it takes to take out 60 or so ships

OwlPaste , to World News in Russia Loses Last Black Sea Missile Ship

You missed the point (and i should have perhaps been clearer), the chap was saying "no navy", i am pointing out that suicide drones are still part of that navy and Ukrainians had 15000 personal at the start of the war in the navy.

OwlPaste , to World News in Russia Loses Last Black Sea Missile Ship

You really gotta count how many cheap boat Ukrainians lost trying to sink 60 ships. Ofc they (suicide boats) are much, much, much cheaper and cause no crew casualties being remotely controlled. So it is super cost effective,
And most importantly safe, but if you count pure numbers i am sure Ukrainian losses of those boats are massively higher.

But the fact that russians can still use their missles ships to launch missiles is a big issue. Even if there are fewer of those ships, its not 0 :(... Yet

OwlPaste , to Ask Lemmy in What do you think about my idea to help renters buy their home?

This has been tried in UK for council properties where the tenant has the right to buy. It was introduced by conservatives back last century 1980s) and has led to decimation of council housing stock needed for housing homeless and those or low incomes.

Objectively it ended up being a terrible policy for renters now.

A better way forward is to ensure there are no private and corporate landlords and only local councils are allowed to provide homes for rent. This ensuring local rent controls and stock.

OwlPaste , to Ukraine in Another Ukranian anti-aircraft missile unit shared their kill marks.

I guess its hard to shoot them down as they fly low and do untargetted over borizon fire before running back woth tail between their legs. That goes for both sides, but i seen more helicopters lost when they were stationary

OwlPaste , to Ukraine in A contract soldier of the Russian Armed Forces recorded a video about the situation during the attack on Volchansk - out of 100 people, 12 survived.

Significantly lower are still casualties, even taking the alleged 8:1 ratios that were touted at various specific localised fights, you are looking at 63k Ukrainian causalities minimum (and practically you are looking at much much more).

However the difference is that russia generates 1mil conscripts per year, so they are really not bothered, but Ukrainian command is reporting issues recruiting, by the time any high command starts to shout, the situation is far more dire then reported.

Lets keep a level head and not underestimate the enemy.

Ukrainian high command reports this as stabilised but difficult. Which means its all fucked (as high command always tries a more positive outlook). But reportedly there are more Ukrainians than orcs 2:1 so they should be doing better in terms of holding.

Once you live a few decades, years rush by no matter what. Do what makes you happy.

(Ps i do think its weird but who gives a shit what random internet person thinks, you do you)

Its almost like a recommendation engine didn't actually watch content... Oh wait

OwlPaste , to Memes in EA gonna EA

I have removed alot of advertising on tv by self hosting my dvd/br content. Best decision i had in a while, its like netflix but content is there forever and always accessible from anywhere in the world (if my upload can keep up). Fair amount of work but no subscription chargers

Nah its just the trialist failed to watch all the presented ads before being allowed to use lungs... Next time they will let you take short breaths while watching

Yes that would help

We'd all be dead way before the sun gets that close to be honest. The amount of radiation that we would be getting would likely strip our atmosphere way before the sun would get that physically close
