Just installed Syncthing on my Scale server. It looks like it doesn't have users but rather folder IDs that are then used to sync devices. One of the cool features of Nextcloud is the ability to share files with other users. Can this be done with Syncthing?
AFAICT, mastodon's decisions, which are arguably problematic (on which see: https://lemmy.ml/post/14973403) are literally trickling down to other platforms and infecting how they federate with each other as they dance around mastodon's quirks in different ways.
It seems like masto is ruining "the standard" with its gravity.
For me mastodon was worst experience from side of admin of instance and from user experience too.
Thinking it's a little bit overcomplicated and limited. On the other hand hosting services like Lemmy and PeerTube are just breez :)
As an PeerTube instance admin ( I self host mine) the global search need to be enabled by admin otherwise it will only search content of local instance though it only affects search not direct query or user channels URLs.
Trending system usually is based on channels that are being subscribed by users of specific instance.
about P2P it's possible to disable it by admin instance to get direct connection without sharing.
This is really intriguing, but am I reading the instructions correctly? Call me dumb, but I don't know how to reinstall Win10 Home; I don't have a recovery CD or anything like that. I'd also need to back up everything first... which would be a pain...

Nintendo DMCAs Yuzu forks on GitHub ( github.com )
Unsurprising move. People should've moved them elsewhere.
Syncthing ... where are the users?
