Doctors Without Borders:

⭕️Numerous military offensives in recent weeks have led to recurrent mass casualty influxes at -supported medical facilities in Rafah and the Middle Area of Gaza.

⭕️How can the killing of more than 800 people in a single week, including small , plus the maiming of hundreds more, be considered a military operation adhering to international law?,

⭕️ Israel repeatedly bombed so-called safe zones, camps, a school and multiple humanitarian warehouses, which were formally registered as ‘deconflicted’ by Israeli forces.

⭕️We call on Israel’s allies, including the , $UK, and member states, to do everything in their power to influence Israel to stop attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza.

on shocking European election results.

U.S. election foreshadowing?

Harbinger for 2024?

"We are going through some weird stuff right now. But we have gone through weird stuff before, and I do think that we can learn from it, and that we urgently need to."

Ranked , also known as or instant-runoff voting (), is how they do it here in the .

I'm an citizen now (still holding on to my citizenship and voting though). Yesterday=first time I voted using this system.

Better-designed system, imho. Sharing so fellow can get a sense of how this works. I wish it were everywhere in . Apparently, it's only shown up in limited areas.

Makes sense, right?

/ We Condemn the Israeli Lawmaker Calling for a Second 'Nakba'

"Right now: one goal: Nakba! A Nakba that will overshadow the Nakba of 48. Nakba in Gaza and Nakba to anyone who dares to join" —— MK Ariel Kallner, head for the Knesset delegation for relations with the European Parliament [October 7, 2023]

[…] We would like to remind MK Kallner of the EU's firm and steady position that all settlements in Palestinian territory are illegal under international law and the EU will not recognise any changes to the pre-1967 borders, including in Jerusalem, other than those agreed by both sides.

[…] We remind MK Kallner and all Israeli officials of their obligations under international law, including the protection of civilians in armed conflict. We also would like to remind MK Kallner that the indiscriminate use of force and the targeting of civilian infrastructure in Gaza are clear violations of these legal obligations, and any attempts to justify or condone such actions are unacceptable.

[…] This is why we ask the Knesset leadership to appoint a new head of the Knesset delegation for the relations with the European Parliament, unless MK Kallner apologizes for these comments and deletes his despicable tweets.

/ Spain, Ireland to recognise Palestinian state on May 21 - EU's Borrell

[...] Asked on local Spanish radio station RNE if May 21 was when Spain, Ireland and other EU countries would recognise a Palestinian state, Borrell said yes, mentioning as well.
"This is a symbolic act of a political nature. More than a state, it recognises the will for that state to exist," he said, adding that and other countries would probably follow.

"The ultimate goal, I suggest, was a translatio imperii; the establishment of an imperial monarchy in the west that could rival the Habsburg empire, and which in time, perhaps, might even come to imitate the universal glory of the Roman imperium. Not the American Atlantic seaboard, but rather the continent of Europe, with its arms, its learning, and its treasure, was the goal of Bacon’s early imperial vision."
