I originally posted irregularly on a sub and when I asked a mod for help as to why my posts weren't being approved, he randomly banned me from the sub without asking. I messaged and he said in the future I will be allowed again, he said 30 days....
i posted a fairly obscure support request on an obscure sub and instead of just saying the post isn't live, etc etc, it'll fake-show me the post as #1 on the hot page of the sub, #1 on the new, but then if I open the sub in a private window it isn't there -- so it either wasn't approved at all, or hasn't been approved yet. why...
Been thinking of making a post like this for some time, apologies if some of this is not completely relevant: this community seems more like it's about Reddit the platform/product than Reddit the social "thing", but I'm sure a lot of people have similar experiences to mine. Maybe on some instances more than others....
So ban me over my pro-Palestine stance and well the rule I broke was basically depicting child abuse/neglect. But that as well has me going cause it's like when it comes to the war how can it really be define as child abuse to show how the children of Palestine are suffering. Anyway I hate reddit so much right now and have even...
someone on a subreddit said they had brain bleeding. i asked how it happened. a mod immediately removed it and said that it was an intrusive comment or some nonsense..i messaged them asking them to explain how, and i explained how i thought it would actually be beneficial for the readers if they decided to answer and that they...
Browsing Reddit at work like I've literally done every work day for the last six years, suddenly Reddit won't let me vote. Says my account has been suspended, but all I have to do is reset my password, using the email address I have on file. I don't have one. Can't get the email to reset the password, can't add an email now. I...
New here. Migrated from Reddit. Still trying to figure out Lemmy - what's everyone's experiences like coming from Reddit and does Lemmy serve as a good alternative? Pros and cons/differences?...
As a little background, I didn't actively use Reddit for months following the blackout. I still barely stop in over there and if I do I'm never logged in our contributing to the communities there (where I was previously a daily poster/commenter)....
As soon as people showed the slightest signs of paying less attention to the Israel-Gaza situation, the entire frontpage is suddenly not enshittified anymore. Wow, look at this insane rapper beef! I haven't seen memes this funny in ages! Hey hockey fans, look at this insane helldivers 2 drama! Of course, all the political...
Historically, I've perceived Reddit as slightly left leaning, with strong pockets of conservatives. Recently though, a vast majority of comment sections seem to excuse violence, such as in this thread (TW: police brutality), where people say things like...
I use old.reddit.com, and had trouble logging in from there today. "Too many redirects". I also use the Redirect to old.reddit.com extension. When I disabled that, the login link it now takes you to is https://www.reddit.com/login/. That, of course, takes you to www.reddit.com....
There are a few subreddits I check out from time to time because Lemmy doesn’t have the volume of users required to keep those niche conversations active....
It is a subconscious level ad for the utility/value of the platform. You don't need to be overt about the screenshot containing Lemmy by name. Any subtle details are all that is needed. This is all it takes to attract the most valuable people; simply show them that they are missing out on something useful. It is effective psy...
