Coming May 5th, I'll be doing a cover and title reveal for the rebrand for my indie novel series, Below the Heavens. I can't wait to show you all this amazing art!

This is turning out to be a book I'm not terribly excited about: The Dog Of The South by Charles Portis. The tone sort of reminds me of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but set in Texas and Mexico and without the hardcore drugs. Parts are funny, but mostly it kind of drags and I'm not sure what the point is. If I wasn't already more than halfway through, I'd probably add it to the DNF pile. @bookstodon

Two pieces of good news this week! The first 3 Accidental Detective humorous mystery novels will come out in audio! PLUS HarperCollins/Harlequin contracted for the mass market paperback rights of something Shady at Sunshine Haven. (Mass-market is the small paperback size. Right now they're in trade paperback.) These options should bring the books to more readers. I don't know yet when they'll be out though. @bookstodon

    31 Venetia, Georgette Heyer. Re-read.
I remembered the first part of this far more clearly than the second. I still find myself cheering Venetia on as she sets out after what she finds her heart desires. Excellent all round. @bookstodon

The second in a historical fantasy series centering about Giulia Farnese, mistress to Cardinal Rodrigo of the Borgia family. Yes, that Borgia family.

“How Sanctions Work” is a smart call to rethink some taken-for-granted assumptions about the power and effects of what Nicholas Mulder calls “the economic weapon.” I review the book by Narges Bajoghli, Vali Nasr, Djavad Salehi-Isfahani, and Ali Vaez. @bookstodon https://manaramagazine.org/2024/05/book-review-how-sanctions-work-iran-and-the-impact-of-economic-warfare-by-narges-bajoghli-vali-nasr-djavad-salehi-isfahani-and-ali-vaez/
