We don't handle sports cards; but, we do handle books produced with sports cards inside!
These, from '90/'91 contain mini-bios of pro athletes' chilhoods. The last 5 pages of each are printed on perforated card-stock, 9 cards/page, with youth photos on front and stats on back. Collect the complete set!

Clockwise from top left, the books are as follows: little BIG LEAGUERS. Compiled by Bernie Ward. Red with white and black titling. Four posed, black and white photos of unnamed child baseball players are arranged in a square with a circular color photo of each in the outermost corners. Triangular green shading divides each pair of photos, to give the impression of a baseball diamond. More little BIG LEAGUERS. Compiled by Tom Muldoon. Yellow with red and black titling, designed in the same manner as the first book. little football BIG LEAGUERS. Compiled by Tom Muldoon. Blue with white and yellow titling. A reversed arrangement similar to the baseball books, color pro photos squared in the middle with square black and white child photos in the outer corners. A white border filled with a row of red stars connects the images. little basketball BIG LEAGUERS. Compiled by Bernie Ward. Green with yellow and white lettering. Arranged side by side are four narrow color images of pro players making jump shots, topped by a square black and white photo of each as a child.

    This old bookrack – frail, but still in use – is in the earliest photos from the shop. 80+ year old retailer bookshelves. I've never really stopped to appreciate them in this aspect. Through the years, we've lost a few to wear and this one's fading. There are 5 more still in use, thankfully in better condition.

    A couple of recent arrivals. I'm a bit distracted so, I haven't any commentary at the moment – these vintage covers simply caught my eye. We have books of all types; something for nearly everyone. If you find yourself on our street, stop in for a look around!

    I have a soft spot for books in matched sets. It's said these riffed on James Bond–An
    American art historian/collector uses his job as cover, & pays for his hobby performing hits for a secret gov't org.

    The Eiger Sanction was also a 1975 mountain-climbing action film produced, starring, & dir. by Clint Eastwood, who did most of his own stunts.

    Even Nostradamus didn't predict I'd spend so much time 2024 with Westerns, Horseback Riding, Harness Racing, & Horse Care. I rode a horse once–part of Summer camp, a Scout badge, or something like that... My jam is sci-fi. Maybe it's time I rewatch that space Western series, Firefly.
