Israel is betting on the long haul, to keep the genocide going until people get tired of protesting and give up. and apparently they have won. there are less and less reactions to Israel's genocide around the world as their atrocities drag on.

And certain countries and people will still shout the utter nonsense “right to defend themselves”.

Majority of the countries have failed humanity.
They’re doing nothing after so many atrocities and the UN only have words but zero actual actions.

This pretty much shows and proves that one small state is the ‘leader’ of every country, even the US.

Could you clarify what you mean by that?

Horrific, not only is it a vertically shot video, but it's also got bars on the side of it. The least shocking thing here is the IDF human rights abuses.

Most moral army in the world

autotldr Bot , to World News in Israeli soldiers who drove with wounded Palestinian tied to their vehicle 'violated orders', military says

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The Israeli military says its soldiers violated orders and failed to meet the values of the country’s defence force when they drove with a wounded Palestinian tied to the front of their vehicle.

Video showed a wounded local man, Mujahed Azmi, lying on the bonnet of a jeep as it drives past two ambulances in Jenin.

News agency Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video from verified footage shared on social media that shows the same vehicle transporting an individual on top in Jenin.

The incident recalled scenes in the Second Intifada, when Israeli troops were criticised for tying Palestinians, including a 13-year-old boy, to the front of an army vehicle.

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation in the occupied Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, called the incident an example of "human shielding in action".

The IDF was banned from using Palestinians as human shields by the Israeli Supreme Court, but has been accused of using the practice multiple times since, the Guardian reports.

Uhh, normally that would be a crazy number, but it's Hajj. Is it still a crazy number?

alyaza OP Mod ,
@alyaza@beehaw.org avatar

yes; as far as i'm aware there has never been a mass-death event like this in the contemporary history of the Hajj, although it's always been arduous and more potentially deadly when it falls during the summer

DdCno1 ,

Nope, these mass death events are a regular occurrence due to the Saudi government's incompetence. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incidents_during_the_Hajj

CanadaPlus ,

Jesus! (Or Isa?) Some of these were like single localised events. I was just thinking about how many people come through without even bringing that into it.

Well, I guess a casual disregard for the life and limb of non-elite non-Saudis is pretty on brand for them.

Yup, they are one of the most inhuman regimes on the planet, right up there with the likes of China and North Korea: https://www.hrw.org/report/2023/08/21/they-fired-us-rain/saudi-arabian-mass-killings-ethiopian-migrants-yemen-saudi
