Reading up on some of the more recent posts regarding VR on Linux, I'm wondering if anyone can give a quick rundown of the actual state of VR gaming on Linux for users of WMR headsets like the HP Reverb G2....
That sounds pretty promising. I know the headset camera-based controller tracking will be a pain to implement, but at least there's some hope for people that plonked down 600+ bucks for these devices. Some, like me, just a month ahead of the eol announcement....
Thanks! Sounds like decent progress hady been made in this area already. I'll keep an eye on this project so that when 24H2 drops I've got a way to avoid turning my headset into e-waste.
A tow truck driver once decided for me that a failed hood release latch on the side of the highway wasn't an issue that needed towing (he flat out refused to tow my car even though I specifically called them to tow my vehicle, and asked him to tow it to the nearest dealer).
He "fixed" it by cutting a bunch of holes into my bumper to attach zip ties through and then ducttaping the remaining gap closed. His genius solution made a 100 or so dollar repair (that would've been covered under warranty as I learned later) a several thousand dollar repair that required a new front bumper, new grille, and a bunch of paintwork. And a new hood latch of course.
Zero fucks to give seems generous in my experience.
tl;dr - Black man driving his dad's BMW is detained for being suspicious because he doesn't look like the sort of person who drives that car. He is subject to a rough arrest as his mother watches. Gatineau police insist there was no racial profiling.
Man, this screams "racial profiling" and "unjustified use of force" and they still want to claim there's no wrongdoing. Seriously, what needs to happen before a police organization goes "Yes, this was excessive and unjustified and we have disciplined the responsible officers" instead of first trying to gaslight the public?
The move on Wednesday marks a U-turn in Ukraine’s approach on the matter. Kyiv had long opposed the measure and had repeatedly criticised Moscow for mobilising prisoners to fill its ranks....
The official count released recently by the Ukrainian government was 31k, vs Russia's totally believable 6k dead on their own side.
I will happily concede both have incentives to misrepresent their casualty numbers but the difference between Ukraine's official death toll and the estimates you see from military analysts have a much smaller discrepancy than the official reported losses and independent analysis on the Russian side.
But hey, you believe what you want to believe. We're all still free to disagree.
