I agree. If this were actually addressing the problem in question (bad faith actors harvesting data) then sure, but it isn't really because the other options are still suffering from the same problem. If anything, this entire discussion is a whataboutism to avoid talking about how more electric cars lets us phase out the ice ones.
We only know about when humans mastered fire or started using metal. But we know the exact date when the first powered flight took place. What are some really early "first ____" we know the date of for sure?
First let me be clear: I'm not a crazy conspiracy person (...on this) I just don't rely on a municipal well. As far as I know adding fluoride to the private well at my houses is not a thing, good or bad. I did drink municipal water for two years when I lived on campus in college....
I constantly see angry mobs of people decrying "woke", "critical race theory", ""grooming"", and whatever other nonsense they made up this week. They march around with guns, constantly appending lib as a prefix to any word they can use to denigrate. They actively plot violence and spew hatred in the open....
"We've almost got some of their telecommunications cracked; the front end even runs on a laptop!" The Mac that sunk a thousand ships could have been merely clunky product placement, not a bafflingly stupid tech-on-film moment....

They're speaking English, every single word they say carries an incredible history of the world we live in from Rome to the speakers of Old Norse and otherwise. The simplest solution is a handwave: the creators translated everything out of Galactic Basic for you.
No matter how many times you let that happen to a bacteria, as long as you're killing them with a handgun, it keeps working. They don't evolve defenses without becoming something different.
So I guess it's a bit metaphorgotten, but the point is that that's only true if it's a system where starting from zero to a billion is something that can be selected for, and it pretty much just is not.
I mean, go for it? I'm sure the army would welcome the opportunity to invest in effective armor research, so if you can get it off the ground at all contact DARPA.
