“What do you want to do 5 years from now?”

🤔

😬

🤯

I am having a difficult time visioning 5 years from now, what I want to do and then how to get there.

Some of this is due to the chaos of the last few years, but I also think it could be a challenge due to

Also I am 42 so midlife stuff?

That all said, how do you vision 5 years from now?

@actuallyautistic @lifewithtrees @actuallyadhd I think NTs just want you to have ANY answer, because they think being stagnant means going backward. Means you’re a lazy drug addict waste of space. If you’re not constantly moving forward, you’re falling behind. . If asked at a job, talk about being promoted twice and acquiring new business management skills. Just have answers that sound good, no one expects you follow through on them.

What does “unmasking” mean to my comrades?

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic Behaving how I would in a room with no one watching. Wearing whatever, sitting in whatever position, enjoying whatever activity without fear of possibility of judgment. Doing things at my own pace, from hyperspeed switching focus to being nearly motionless for an hour. Singing loud even though I don’t know all the words and my voice doesn’t sound like I thought it would out loud, which would feel bad if someone else was around.

Autistic humans challenge societal norms not just by existing, but by redefining them.

How has your journey and Neurodiversity influenced your view on what “normal” means?

@actuallyautistic @theautisticcoach I can look normal or I can be functional. I have finite energy, can’t choose both. For now, I need to ignore normal expectations and figure out what my actual pace and rhythm are to be functional on a daily and long-term basis. Then I can bring back in what still serves me in the looking normal category. Thanks for asking.
