Thornless was also a 'selling point'. Mine were a gift from another gardener. And being raspberries they try to spread beyond their allotted space. So I dig them and put them up on freecycle. It's super popular, and they can spread their DNA in someone else's garden. :-D
As a child, once I learned to read, I started to really learn. And naturally shared all the fun facts with most anyone who would listen. Actually we DID. Tho' only for a little while. And the results were enormous. The B/Yamgata Influenza lineage appears to have gone extinct. The cool part is we weren't even trying to do anything with those specific efforts to affect influenza. All of which should encourage us to cooperate more.
