@cynical13 @Narayoni @bookstodon Somebody once asked on social media for the most “kick-ass” female character in books or on film. Mainly the replies involved Lara Croft, Ripley, or Zena.
They were wrong of course.

    Comic with two characters dressed in medieval clothing, walking on a hill. The one in front is very tall and holding a hiking pole, the shorter one behind him has his nose in a book, reading. The short fellow says: We've had our "inciting incident" and we're on the "journey," so it seems like we'll be having a "crisis" any minute now.... She really envied Nanny Annaple, the witch over the mountain, who managed to lose all her teeth by the time she was twenty and had real crone-credibility. Without any effort Nanny managed to get a face like a sockful of marbles, while Granny had tried every reputable wart-causer and failed to raise even the obligatory nose wart.
