I dunno. I think X may be the least biased platform ever. It's complete shit regardless of who you are.

pivot_root ,

It's pretty good if you're a Nazi or Elon fan, I imagine.

Only the first 7 letters words of this headline are needed.

I take exception to this title for being unnecessarily long, it should just read:

X is the worst social media app

"duh."

They could have left out, "for LGBTQ+ people" and it would have been just as accurate.

Hmm. Pretty much for everyone else as well... It has become worse that youtube comments over there.

I am still over there occasionally, because some journalists whose updates I follow are only there. The worst part is that the more right wing trolls I block, the more seem to pop up.

The bird.makeup instance allows you to follow any Twitter account without having to be on the site.
I follow multiple Twitter accounts on mastodon with this method. If an account is missing go on the bird.makeup website and search for the profile, it will pop up on the fediverse soon

Neat, thank you.

I always get confused in this thought. So if govt bans twitter(hypothesis) and these people spread to other better places, will they improve or is it better to leave these vile beings among themselves to rot in their twitter or whatever.

I accidentally replied to someone else with this but I meant to ask it in the replies.

Lex is pretty nice it's like queer nextdoor

Sounds dope, never heard of it. Looks like it’s a dating site though? Never used one of those and have had a forever partner before they got popular, so I’m not sure it’s for me.

…I’ve also never used Twitter so I have no idea lawl

DigitalDruid ,

While it can be used for dating, that doesn't seem to be the main focus (I have only been there 2 days though).

You use checkboxes to filter the content you're interested in so you can ignore all the dating stuff, that's what i'm doing as I too have a partner and am not looking either.

I have joined 3 groups (a local chat, a local MTF support room and a 'platonic friends' group that seems to be national.

heres most of the content tags in search:

This is Not news for queer* people.

I am in this instance using "Queer" to mean an umbrella for all who are othered by society.

I'm telling you that people with lifelong chronic disability, people who are sex workers, and people who are dispropotionately targeted by the law enforcement or the state, AND disenfranchised casually in everyday society because of their appearance and/or melanin levels...All have networks of contacts they have relied on for over a decade in many cases.

It was easy for me to get off Twitter but for a lot of people I care about, it'd mean severing so many important bonds...and I just thought this sentiment is something that someone reading might apply too, as well

lltnskyc ,

Oh no, they don't censor every opinion I don't like, don't remove every post that does not align with my worldviews as disinformation, and don't forbid people to say bad words towards me while allowing me to do same towards them, what a horrible place!

Tattorack ,
@Tattorack@lemmy.world avatar

I mean, yeah, that's true... On the basis that it's the worst social media platform for... Anything at all.
