I feel like I'm less impressed or intimidated by famous people than most other people. They're just people, right?

Is that an autistic thing? Like maybe not appreciating arbitrary hierarchy?

I think it very well might be. I feel the same way.

We are disconnected from the NT social world to varying degrees. Autistic decision-making is also known to be less intuitive and more based on conscious reasoning, and that would include deciding how to interact with someone.

Either of these could cause us to consider aspects of social hierarchy as not terribly relevant.
