Living in Spain with husband @jpoesen, 3 dogs and 3 cats.

I help people get a (Flemish) high school degree when the regular channels don't work for them.

I love animals (dogs in particular), nature, photography, and science. I'm crazy about books.

I'm a big fan of iNaturalist.

I spend most of my time reading, doing stuff in the garden, watching tv, and looking at plants and bugs.

Have you ever had occasion to say "The book made me do it?"

For me it was a trip to Syria 18 years ago.

I read Les jardins de lumière by Amin Maalouf (translated as The Gardens of Light) several times between 1995 and 2005. The story is set in 3rd century Palmyra and I was so intrigued and fascinated by the place that I wanted to see it for myself.

We also ended up with a dog from there ...
