Yeah, that's some scary levels of cognitive distance on full display here. But, at times like this, we must try to suppress any desire to say, "I told you so." When somebody makes a statement that might imply they are somewhat aware at least of the effects of such cognitive dissonance, they need compassion, not contempt, to find a way out of their own mazes.
Honestly such a weak argument. Having helped my uncircumcised son learn to keep himself clean, I can probably say this myth needs to be laid to rest already. It's just not true.

How does the fact that point of observation affects the outcome of the experiment fit into this? If there is no consciousness, why does it matter where you observe, as in the case of varying outcomes of the double slit experiment?
