i'm a little bit of everything, depending on the time... i've studied architecture and mathematics but my interests reach far and wide beyond. i'd say i'm a jack of all trades, a polymath in training. i love all things open-source. i believe in dignity for everyone. i am an advocate for accessibility. drug positive, but i'm going natural for a while now. i used to be hypersexual, now i'm kinda celibate. i enjoy engaging with philosophy. i am full of love and also full of anger. currently recovering from a series of horrific events in my life. working as a software tester in hungary rn, my goal is to get some experience & leave this country preferably in the next 2 years. (are these things weird to put in a bio? probably, but i hadn't talked to anyone in ages so i am a little weird rn. + i can always rewrite it + i come here to be weird) sorry if i don't answer to a reply or a mention - sometimes i run out of words ∧/∨ forget to reply.

@actuallyautistic Opinions and advice welcomed. Of social media, I'm only here on fediverse. And I've been mostly inactive, due to various reasons. It hasn't served me well, one could say. Probably mostly because I didn't tailor stuff for myself, but followed all those "You're new to Mastodon, here's what you should do" posts. (As a sidenote, if you're neurospicy, don't follow such things in general. Utilize yes, get ideas yes, but they are not meant to be followed!)

Now I'd like (read need, for personal reasons) to get more active, but specifically within the neurodivergent community. So what is an AuDHDer to do?

Ditch this withered generalist account of mine (I'd need to tear it down and start from scratch anyways at least) and hop on some ND instance but still stay on fedi?
Hop over to Bluesky and but just follow other ND folks?
Discord, Ceiling Cat forbid?
Something else?

Like, what has worked best for you, to connect to peers in this kind of setting? What would you recommend? What would you advice against? Mind you, I'm one of those "grew old but didn't grew up" spicyheads so... Yeah, there's that too.

@undefined_variable @actuallyautistic i'm in a similar shoe rn, i've made my account like a month ago and still kinda exploring. one thing you could do is search for tags that interest you - if you're persistent you are ought to find people who have similar interests; obviously if you search for more general tags, there will be more posts to filter through.

i find the 'explore the fediverse' feed useful too, where it just loads up posts from all over the fedi (that's how i found your post:)).

and once you find a few people to follow, you can see what they interact with, check out the accounts they boost & check the notes on interesting posts. imo that is the best way to find like-minded people.

i feel like making an account on a nice instance can also help you start up; i think where i'm from (wafrn) is a really nice place and i can recommend.
